I think the timing of the announcement was cynically done to convince floating voters.... erm fans to renew their season tickets. I believe we have heard the same posturing around about this time every close season for a while now. I had 2 season tickets, one in my time and another I shared with my brother since we moved to the Emirates.

This season, (irrespective of the the lies from Stan and his crew), I have sadly decided against renewing both tickets. I know there are allegedly 20,000 fans on the waiting list (so the rumours says anyway), just can no longer justify forking out so much money (particulalrly in the current economic climate), whilst the club refuses to re-invest. At least if I am going to break my balls for something, I have to believe in the project. I will from now support Arsenal from the comfort of my armchair :(.

I however do not believe, Arsene is to blame. I believe this mythical funds has not been available to him, the war chest remains just that, the war chest!

If it was cynically done to get ST holders to renew surely it would have been done long before the last day for renewals

The season ticket renewal deadline was 1st of June, the club decided to extend for another week, (really don't know what the reason was), I have quite a few friends who were unsure whether to renew. I wonder what the percentage of fans who had not renewed before this announcement are, but it would have helped sway their opinion. I probably would have been convinced if I believed him and renewed, (and broken my balls, at least the pain would have been worth it!).

I think the club are way behind with all renewals. My grandson is now 4 and has moved up to the next age level as a Junior Gunner. The money for his membership should have been taken out on May 31st but as yet the money still hasn't been taken out of my bank account.

Don't get me wrong, I would have renewed, irrespective of whether I felt we were going to challenge this coming season or not. My personal financial situation at the moment does not justify such outlandish outlay, (if I was not being made redundant, I probably would have)..... Just that my decision not to was made a bit easier with what my perception is of the club's direction.....
