Fee was agreed a month ago at least, we have only been waiting on De Bruyne to agree a loan deal with Leverkusen

I am okay with loaning De Bruyne out although I hope any loaners this year sign extensions to their current contracts

Good summary Drogs. The Shaw 'deal' looks a no brainer. Given us another year at least with Ash then Shaw and Bertrand to compete for LB 2014. My only reservation is I heard Van Aarnholt was doing wonders on loan and I always liked the look of him too.

I'm torn re Courtois. As Ive said elsewhere, if he goes on loan again we really need to extend his contract, it's clear this guy is going to be one of the best in the world and he'll only have 2 years left on his deal in 2014 without having even played for us. I like the idea of a Given or Cesar as back up. Both better than what we have currently behing Cech. Delac presumably will be 3.

Shurrie gives us options and I presume he will be played wide, opposite to Hazard with the likes of Moses, maybe Piazon and De Bruyne as back up. This leaves Mata and Oscar as our options at '10' with the likes of Mikel, Rambo, 203, Essien, Ake and Romeu as central midfield options with Oscar and maybe De Bruyne being able to play there also. If we are lucky, we may even see Josh and Chalobah return though I suspect loan deals to P.L clubs.

Walace coming in to compete with Ivan and Dave at R.B just really means 2 positions to be filled for me; a centre half and a centre forward. You know my view of Lewandowski. I'd have him, Torres and Ba with Lukaku having one more season on loan at say Swansea, with a view to him replacing one of Torres / Ba in a years time.

At centre half we need a beast to play alongside Luiz. Terry of 2005 would be ideal if I can just sort out that damn time machine.

Pretty much agree with everything here. Another solution up top would be to have new striker with Lukaku and have Schurrle and Feruz as backup. Keep on forgetting about Piazon too, we've got so many options in that 3 man attack role. Oscar needs to either be rotated with Mata, or shifted back a position. Either way, his strongest place on the field is in the middle, not out wide!!

If these Torres + £30m for Cavani rumours are true then I will be a very happy man :D

Oscar is far too good and has far too much potential to be on the bench. If Mata plays number 10, Oscar needs to play deep alongside probably Ramieres. How often can Chelsea say they have the Brazialian number 10 in their ranks?!

Torres and cash for Cavani seems a sensible solutions (much like the Falcao one) and with Benitez going there, it may just happen. Cavani would be Drogba-esque for us.

Feruz is nowhere near ready, and I have doubts as to whether he will ever reach the standards that we require.

What, to be 4th choice? Good for you if you doubt him, but we'll never know if he has potential if we don't give him the odd chance.

4th choice he would be fine for, but if we play one up top he wont get the chance to play with 3 recognised strikers in front of him, exactly the reason Lukaku could not get a game in 11/12 (Drogba, Torres, Sturridge or Kalou)

After watching the Next Gen and the Youth cup matches, if anyone is going to break through from that batch then its Jeremie Boga, talented without a doubt

Boga is the one. Right back looks useful too - forget the name.

I also rate Swift highly - he'll be a slower burner, but has immense maturity on the ball. Lampard-esque. We need to keep the faith.

Oh and I was pleasantly surprised as to how well Loftus-Cheek did against city. Didn't expect that one, but just goes to show you never really know...

Part of it is to do with 3rd party ownership in south America. The rules are different in Portugal so they can poach loads of young talent that other clubs can't

Rumours are you have signed Schurrle. What do you make of him?
