Released by the club as of 30th June: Frazer Richardson Danny Butterfield Dan Seaborne Ryan Dickson Ben Reeves Sam Hoskins Tommy Forecast Alberto Seidi Retained: Will Britt - (professional contract offer) Fraser Colmer (scholarship extension) Jamal Branker (scholarship extension) Official Announcement: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/201213-released-list-854898.aspx DTLW
No surprises, though strangely like losing your children. Apart from Forecast who is like that stepchild neither of you can remember having. Shame Sam Hoskins didn't make it...early promise doesn't always come good, though I am sure he will have a footballing career (just not at our level).
Frazer put in a very good shift for us. His crossing to the far post to Rickie was brilliant, think he had something like 8 or 9 assists. Butterfield was also good everytime he was called upon. Never let the team down and apparently very popular off the field with everyone at the club. Dickson got that goal at Plymouth, will always remember that. Didn't see too much of the others, Seaborne was ok but probably not more than a League 1 defender. Shame for the nippers who have been at the club like Reeves for 10 years, but that's football. Good luck to all of them, even Tommy!
Sorry to see Richardson & Hoskins go ... Richardson was very hard-done by last season, and Hoskins just hasn't fulfilled his early promise I guess. Ben Reeves will go on to have a good career somewhere, as I'm sure will Hoskins. Also, considering Branker & Colmer big injuries suffered, it's nice to see them both given a year to prove themselves. Guess the Chaplow thing must be true as well. But a big thanks to all, all have played their part in our back-to-back promotions, but for some it was far too fast and they fell behind. Good Luck to them all!
Do we now have five keepers on pro contracts? Kelv, Boruc, Gazzanigga, Coby Moore (spelling?) and Will Britt?
No. Corby Moore is a midfielder. Our contracted goalkeepers will be: Artur Boruc Kelvin Davis Paolo Gazzaniga Cody Cropper Will Britt (if accepted - I believe Norwich will offer him one too)
Good luck to all. Richardson back to Leeds got to be worth a shout. Twitter/Facebook responds: "why no Fox/Guly?"
Good luck to Dan Seaborne. Especially after his head injury, still being able to play professionally is a good result.
Obviously those idiots don't realise that every player in a squad does not have a contract that runs out at the same time.
Not until next summer. He signed a one-year extension last year, but it was never announced for whatever reason.
Ah right, a little strange though. I don't imagine he'll be anywhere near the first team next year...
We were expecting this so no suprises. Hoskins and Seidi, well, I would have liked them to be first team material, but obviously they failed to impress and impose themselves. But not every youth player has what it takes, and people who judge the things generaly know their job. I wouldn't be suprised if Reeves makes his way trough the lower leagues eventually, though. Seems like decent enough player. Can't be worse than Guly, right?
