Halo 3 deserves a shout, probably the best halo in the franchise and was the first stand out game for myself on the 360. Personal choice would be Skyrim though, the world design, interfaces and graphics and general game play is second to none compared to any other RPG's. The Batman games are pretty good too, wouldn't say the best though. 
Skyrim took over a huge chunk of my life. Red dead, gta and left for dead have been long time gave in the past. At the moment I'm playing forza 4 and mass effect 3 which are very good games
Has to be Skyrim closely followed by GTA IV. And I'm sure after September at least one of those will be replaced in my top 2 with GTA V.
I was lent Mass effect 2 to start off with and was hooked. the story line dynamics are incredible. I then got the first one which was just as good except for the stupid buggy missions. Im now on my way in the 3rd one and im really enjoying the story!
I've seen them but didn't fancy them, they are cheap to pick up now so may give them a go.
Definitely worth a go if you don't want something too serious. The first one is basically a game version of Dawn of the Dead (with Ving Rhames). The second is a bigger and better.
