I'm 100% certain he'd have more attractive proposals than Southampton. Both in terms of stature and £££

It's all a bit quiet at the moment, is today going to be a cracking Sunday like last year when we signed Jay Rod? I doubt it as i am hearing absolutely nothing at the moment :(

Seagulls fans all tell me Bridge was fantastic for them last season.

I've thought about this! Last season I would have said no as he had terrible loans at Sunderland and West Ham, but whenever I've seen him for Brighton he's looked really good. I wouldn't normally advocate signing older players, but he works in a way that he wouldn't block Shaw's development and is capable if he's asked to come in. I doubt this will happen, but I wouldn't be against it.

Bridge is in the past, we need to move on and not buy players nearing the end of their career.

Why couldn't Bridge do a job for us though? Shaw will continue to be first choice but Bridge would provide decent cover, experience in the training ground and he would probably up his game even more playing for his club. I would rather Shaws mentor was Bridge than Fox and if you are still not convinced, who doesn't want to see one of the Saturdays at the game?

Really?? Have you ever seen Targett play? - not sarcastic, genuine interest. I'm sure he's a talented kid, but better than Bridge? I doubt it..

I'm sure we can find better. And probably pay them less than Bridge.

Big difference in quality stepping in to the first team! I'm sure one day he will start a game for us, or even make the bench soon. But it would be mad to have him as our only back up full back, if Richardson, Butterfield and Dickson leave. For atleast 1 year we will need some experience at the back, preferably a 28+ year old!

And if Gamez signs, Clyne could play at LB and Gamez on the right.

I said a couple of pages back that Man City are in for Gamez too so that deal might not happen.
