Last year i was walking around the Colosseum in Rome whilst imagining the fights that took place in the arena below.
All of a sudden an image of a bear fighting three wolves in the arena appeared in my mind. I have thought about this a lot ever since.
Simply who would win in this fight three wolves that will not work as a team but will not hurt one another, or one bear.
Let the question of all time commence.
To make it seem southampton related we shall say that Cortese hosts the game and the banners around the coliseum contain the southampton emblem.

Wolves would work together though and if they did, then my vote goes to the wolves. Even though Wolves freak me out.

Bears actually fight wolves all the time in places like Yellowstone. A bear would kick a wolf's arse, but a pack of three would probably tip the scales the other way as they'd all go for the neck.

I saw a question posed on Reddit a while back, which was what is the biggest land mammal you think you could beat in a fight to the death? I thought I'd have a chance, albeit perhaps not a large one, of beating a wolf. I'm not sure how tough they are when flying solo.

The real question is; If all animals were the same size, who would reign supreme?

What size is the base size though? If we are scaling everything up say, bear size. Then something unsuspecting like an ant might have a shout. Actually, I'm going Hippo.

Bare handed, no weapons? Not even like...a rock picked up from the ground? I think you would have a fair chance against a singular wolf, provided you could use something like a rock, otherwise they'd probably wear you down and obviously have the teeth to do the damage.

My reasoning was as such:

Its weapon is its jaws and it wants to get them around my neck or face. To do that it has to bring me down because obviously I have height advantage. In terms of weight there's probably not much between us, but considering police dogs can do it, a wolf should have little problem taking me down. However, they don't have a lot of power in their legs, and this is clearly going to become a grappling situation. So we'll be locked in a death grip on the ground, and my hands will be forcing his mouth away from my head. I think I can do enough to keep him away from there, and he'll probably opt to do some serious damage to my limbs instead. All I need to do, before he tears me to shreds or I bleed out, is to get my fingers in his eyes or my hand down his throat. Difficult, but doable.

Or just kick the ****er in the face before it gets you down, then stomp its skull. Boom.

The wolves would beat the bear because they always hunt as a team. Interestingly (well to me anyway), the reason we have a close association with dogs is because we are pack hunters as well and they believe we started hunting with wolves.

A pregnant wolf with 3 legs and dentures would beat Joe.

I'd probably try and break a leg. But think the outcome of the fight is 50/50, maybe 60/40.

Ants cant get much bigger, cant remeber the the exact reason, something to do with as they get bigger there oxygen transfer gets less effective. But yea i agree if every animal was ant size, they would be hard to beat!
