Apparently, the change is because Red is considered a lucky colour in the Orient. Supposedly, teams like Manure @ L'Pool are popular there because they play in Red. That's the owner's theory, anyway.
Its on a par with us changing our colours to Crystal Palaces though NSIS. There are 4 big (ish) clubs in Wales, Swansea (White), Cardiff (Blue), Wrexham (Red) and Newport (Orange). Not only does it take away the history of the club, and the long standing traditions of the kit, but it opens the club up for ridicule across Wales. And I'm a Swansea boy, but I totally understand the issues Cardiff fans have with it, especially when it comes out that hideous.
The club's owner is Vincent Tan. He's hong-kong Chinese. In their culture, red is a lucky colour, apparently. Anyway, I don't suppose he really gives a toss about the club's history, unfortunately.
Nah, I have the Tottenham board bookmarked. Didn't realise the promotions/relegations had been sorted.
No. ...but I do think he looks disturbingly like the ugly french twat Obertan. please log in to view this image
I bet. According to cricket365.com, he looks like Tiger Woods. And Branislav Ivanovic is like Dale Steyn. http://www.cricket365.com/lookalikes/6670/8650877/Ross-Taylor-and-Tiger-Woods
Was that on the wife's suggestion when she saw you'd bought a new bike? Well at least some one's buying something this summer. Where's Levy and his cheque book?
Awful news regarding our former goalkeeper Marton Fulop. Apparently he has needed surgery to remove a tumour from his arm.
Yes, agreed. While he has been the recipient of a few harsh words in recent times on this board, I wish him all the best in his recovery.
It was malignant too, apparently. To add insult to injury the poor bloke's also out of contract. He seems remarkably upbeat and level-headed about the whole thing, though: "My contract in Greece has come to an end and with a successful season behind me there were some great career opportunities put in front of me," "For the time being I cannot dwell on these, and I wouldn't want to put a club's management in such an awkward situation that they have to deal with my problem." Hope his positive attitude is rewarded with a full recovery and a quick return to the game.
In other news, further proof that young footballers are paid far too much, with the announcement over the weekend that our former striker Lee Barnard, had got married and he and his new wife have purchased a FOURTEEN bedroom house in which to start their married life. Unbelievable.
