Someone used to call him fernie on old 606 and it drove everyone mad, but I can't remember who it was.

Even if he does transfer(far from convinced yet), I must admit I think the release clause system works quite well for clubs.

Humour me for a moment and lets just say the Marca story about a £40mill clause that Real are going to meet is true. I mean some of you might have rathered being able to hold out for another £10mill say but at least, you were able to point at a total in his contract and say "not a penny less", the amount of time we wasted trying to get Modric to stay whilst Chelsea and then Real kept bidding was ridiculous, it meant we had a player refusing to play for us that we couldn't get a replacement for as we hadn't received any money for him. At least this way it's a clean chop, done early in the summer giving you ages to decide how to replace him and move forward. Also, say Real didn't want to meet the value and Suarez was upset, again you can point to the release clause and say that if he didn't think that was how much he was worth then he shouldn't have signed the contract.

I reiterate though, I wouldn't read anything into the reports. Anyway, as much as I don't like the guy, I hope he stays with you, having top players at clubs outside the top 3 can only make things more interesting.

You need to read the whole thread mate <ok>

We haven't had a 'pace' discussion on here for ages. Coutinho has pace <ok>

he sure does if we sign usain bolt with the suarez money we will have johnson coutinho and bolt all with that vital ingredient any top player requires pace. id also sell gerard, lucas and the rest of the squad tbh as they're paceless. the trio above is all wed need to race into first spot in the table

One other thing. The only area on the pitch that Rodgers is happy with is attack. Noy happy with Lucas (too scared to do something wrong), Gerrard, but he plays according to his own rules anyway. No mention of Henderson or Allen. The only defender he was happy with was Carra, but he's gone now. Pretty glum synopsis from the ****ing manager. Spend and spend WELL!

You're the life and ****ing sole today pal...<laugh>

We may have got a craking deal, we may have got shafted or (more likely) got to a position all parties could agree on by gaining in some areas and losing out in others. Suarez may have been non negotiable on the release clause for example. The lower the release clause the better for Suarez, without knowing all the other elements of the deal it's impossible to gauge whether the negotiations were successful or not.

We could all jump to predetermined, premenstrual like positions I guess? :)

I was going to say this earlier but started to do some figures to back up my point, this is when I decided not to bother. If the release clause meant he would sign deal worth £30k per week less, that equates to £1.5m per season or a total of £6m over the four year contract (at which point he would leave for free), hardly makes up for the £10m shortfall does it?

Does anyone sometimes think we are better as a team when he doesnt play?

Anyone ever thought to themselves, ffs why didnt he pass that? Why doesnt he hold it up there and let more players get into the box? Why is he whinging at him when he could have done this/that etc? (Or am i just making myself feel better?

Awesome player, would rather he stay

I dont want him to leave but if he wants to then..................

I think we play better as a team without Suarez. That does not mean I wanted him to go, why would I want to see us lose a player of his quality? However, it is all about the team and as much as Suarez works hard etc, he is not a team player, he tries to do it all on his own even when there is a simple pass on that guarantees a goal!

What **** storm? Suarez leaving may present a few wums attempting to wind us up but they're not going to get anywhere since most are just accepting its for the best!

I was joking gerrez ... not about suarez or fernie though <ok> and definitely not joking about the big **** you to jim I cant talk I need to shout white

Fair enough, thought you was being serious <ok>

Can't see there being much of a backlash other than the one I said earlier (posters (bar MITO) jumping on the 'he's a ****' bandwagon)

I don't buy into all this ****e re. Suarez.

I'll stick my neck out and say he'll still be with us come September. :emoticon-0107-sweat

I don't like the bloke but he is a class act.
Granted if he went it would be hard for you boys however get the right price and if its spent wisely then it could be master stroke.
Since doglesh left liverpool seem better and sharper in the transfer market look at Sturridge and countino
(Spelling ?) for peanuts really and they look class so who knows.
Resigning alonso would be class under br.
With Suarez it seems you are sometimes one dimensional maybe and he does cause ****.

I know you want him to stay and I don't blame you as he is a special player and its prob is lazy journalism.

But not the end of the world

of an exit on uruguayian radio ... suarez stated " I have a contract but it will be impossible to turn down Real Madrid.

we hold all the aces in this situation Suarez has 4 years left on his contract so its not up to him, his agent or madrid its up to us.

if madrid were offering 60m for bale then we should set Suarez's price at 80m non negotiable.

**** real madrid and **** suarez if these reports are true and not lost in translation as often happens.
