Is it the hair between his toes you're refering to? Thought he was a footballer, not a cultural icon...
How low do we have to go (in player ability) before Liverpool decide it's not worth trumping us? It will save us a lot of time and effort.
Plays as a left winger. We have three wide men already in Dyer, Routledge and Pablo with Lamah as a fourth if part of our plans. Anyone on their way? As I posted previously, Capel's goal record of 16 in 185 distinctly underwhelms me, so I can only assume that he gets a hell of a lot of assists. I'm hoping that he's also got a good engine and can help the full backs otherwise I don't see the point. I guess we'll see in time.
Problem we have with Liverpool is that BR, a fluent Spanish speaker, also has many links in Spain (which includes Portugal in scouting terms). We will always bump into Liverpool while ML is bargain hunting there. Personally I'd like us to scout the Netherlands more. Their style consists of sharp teams with quick strikers, a passing midfield backed up by a HEAVY (strong in the tackle) defense. In my view there is more suitable potentials for us in Holland than in Spain. Many dutch players currently ply their trade in under-achieving dutch sides. Under-achieving due to lack of investment and ambition. I'm sure that a lot of talent is there and, if we can counter the inherent loyalty dutch players appear to have for their clubs and the Eredivisie and entice some midfielders with skill and grit I think this will stand us in better stead than short term Spaniards who will be off the second Laudrup goes.
Good shout, Stumpy. There's probably one or two Ferrie Bodde types just waiting to be discovered. But obviously Michael Laudrup is more familiar with La Liga and is concentrating there. Cove has given us some good pointers to potential Dutch targets.
fair play to Cove, he writes some very interesting blogs about Dutch players and has highlighted a few potential targets .now if only Huw read this board
