I wish Suarez would shut up with his moaning of England and the press. He leaves himself open to it ffs when he goes and bites someone after all the other things he's done. We've stood by him an he ****ing owes us a full season at least
Newcastle's Ashley masturbating wildly at the news & Big Andy thinking "This is my chance to shine at LFC!"
Guillem Balague says Suarez 'determined to leave' Liverpool & doesn't like the city. "Poor old Guillem Balague has set himself up for some interesting tweets from the Liverpool area for the rest of the week after he claimed in his Spanish Diario AS column that Luis Suarez is 'determined to leave Liverpool' and there is little the club can do about it. Common sense says they could simply prevent him due to his contract having several years left but Balague insists that Liverpool have tried everything they possible can to make the Uruguayan happy on Merseyside and have failed repeatedly. Unfortunately, according to Guillem, Suarez just wants out and wants that transfer to be this summer, he's not even prepared to go for another season under Brendan Rodgers. The big problem is that his family are not happy in Liverpool or on Merseyside, he explains that the Suarez clan spend all their time at home and rarely go out, something which pleases none of them. Balague says that this is because Liverpool is a city with little to do, little opportunity for recreational activities. That's pretty unfair.* Suarez's preferred destination is Spain, where his in-laws live to enjoy a warmer climate than the supposed ice-age enveloping Liverpool and England, but will consider other offers and also look at any bids coming in from Italy, where Juventus have been linked with almost every player on the market. Manchester City are also mentioned, which makes a mockery of the climate excuse and Bayern Munich's Bavaria isn't exactly known for being a sun-seekers paradise. This sounds like it could be a story planted by an agent, close to Balague (yes, we mean Pep's bother), or a genuine desire to leave and the first Suarez play in a summer of trying to get out. If it's for extra money then he surely could simply have asked, and Liverpool supporters would no doubt be upset if he decided to disparage their city on his way out. Whether it's true or not, and Balague sounds absolutely sure, there's a certain Spanish journalist in for a 'fun' few days on social networks.*"
I hope its not played out all summer.. If he wants to go, go early... If words are lost in translation and he comes out and says so, he stays. I don't want it dragging on all Summer and I think FSG and Rodgers have learnt from not acting quick enough in the transfer window. Looking at the bare facts, he's been banned for what 15%+ of his Liverpool Career, we actually have a decent win record without him in the team, if money spent wisely I don't see any down side to a transfer. Win-win all round if the above conditions are met.
Full interview.. Doesn't sound good lads. With rumours swirling about possible interest from Real Madrid, Liverpool player Luis Suárez has recognised that it would be difficult "to say no" to the Spanish club. The Uruguayan was speaking during an interview with radio station ‘Sport890’, based in his home country. Suárez said he was happy at Liverpool, but it had been a tough year for him and his family, a situation that might open the door to his departure from Anfield. “I have a contract with Liverpool, but it would be very difficult to say no to Real Madrid”. Here’s more from the interview: Are you close to Madrid? Have they talked to your agent? The desire to win with the big clubs is always there. I’ve talked to my agent, there’s nothing concrete. To say no to Madrid would always be difficult and more so with the team they have. I have a contract with Liverpool, but it would be very difficult to say no to Real Madrid. There are a lot of rumours in the transfer period, but you never know until firm offers are made. Is your time up at Liverpool? I’m happy at Liverpool. I’m happy because of the fans. I made a mistake, I’m human, but they’ve talked about me in ways they shouldn’t have. My family have suffered and things got out of hand. My daughter and my wife have suffered. I’m not prepared to continue to put up with the English press. If you could would you go to another league, like the Spanish? I love Liverpool, but if there is a chance of playing somewhere else... I suffered too much as a kid to get where I am to be attacked unfairly by the English press. They haven’t appreciated me as a player, they’ve just judged my attitude. Is the club insisting you stay? Yes, they’ve always said that. I’ve talked to the coach, and he knows what I want. He was a player. Some of the players understand my situation; enough said. Cavani. One of the two will end up at Madrid? It’s a proud thing for Uruguay that someone has the chance of going to Madrid. It’s necessary to wait until there is something more concrete, to get to the heart of the matter. The possibility means both of us are doing a good job. Guardiola’s brother is in talks with Madrid... When a team wants a player, they look at the player, not his agent.
Better for Liverpool for it to drag out. Sort the deal out but hold fire with the move so other clubs don't know for certain that we have a chunk of cash to spend.
@ManagersNotepad: What Suarez said word for word http://t.co/eeCuKGJZYI Can someone sort this link. It's the apparent translation of the interview. None of that Anti the City bollox. That's an Agent trying to take away the fans pressure on the club to keep him. Hope he has a mild stroke (the agent)
Reading that makes it sound like there isn't a way for him to stay now - lets get the £££ and move on

Suarez can leave on our terms or rot on the bench for the next 4 years until he is 30. That's my stance. If he wants to leave he doesn't have to say so publicly and drive his price down
He came a month or so saying he wanted to stay. Plus in In his interview he mentions a lot of recent changes (family, press) so wonder of he's finally had enough and trying to indignantly barge himself out
He'd be a big loss, but no player is bigger than the club. Great players have played and gone, and they have been replaced. This will not change.
It's obviously because we've taken the "your staying" stance. He has form for this. That's how we got him after all.... But....the fact he misses a good chunk of the first half of the season gives us power me thinks. He's already sitting in the stand so we can say a price and not back down until Xmas.... It's not like he'll be contributing anyway so not losing anything if he huffs.
