My team would be 11 Titus Brambles just for sheer comedy value. Not a great selection this year almost stuck with going for Carlton Cole up front.

Javier Saviola, Claudio Pizzaro, Yossi Benayoun, Luca Toni, Javier Zanetti, Walter Samuel, Mathieu Flamini, Joan Capdevilla. A few famous names. That is not a team though.

Sotirios Kyrgiakos and Nabil El Zhar are in there.

I'd take Toure and Saviola on the right wages for depth and experience.

Just from PL because im too lazy to look through the rest
    GK - Schwarzer
DEF - Figueroa Gallas Toure Alcaraz
MID - Benayoun Karagounis Brunt Malouda
    ST - Petric Arshavin
    Not a particularly intriguing selection

there are a few interesting players here... as usually there's a few dogs and dead legs so making a real team out of it would be hard.

GK: Fabianski and Turnbull look interesting options.
RB: stephen reid did well this year might be a good option here. Surprised danny simpson is on the list.
CB: toure is one we are looking at. richard dunne is a big man who might be a good cheap option for someone
    LB Figeroa is one.
DM: Flamini is one that was a real option.
CM Chris Brunt is another interesting one so is Gary o'niell who did ok at west ham.
Strikers/ fornt 3. Malouda, cole, saviola... the fornt line in my mind would be the biggest risks and let down..... pizarro and klasnic are out of contract and could be options.

    I'd go 4-3-3 here.

Some lower mid table managers would like that list though.

Any manager who wants to break Stokes rut can begin do so by adding Figueroa, Benayoun, Malouda and Arshavin to give them so skill and creativity going forward. All be it aging skill and creativity that is a bit past its best.

  8. Didn't know he was a freebie. He was the best thing since sliced bread a couple of years back!

Piti from Rayo Vallecano scored 17 goals last season. Surely worth a punt for a mid table club? Bit old for us but I don't see why someone like Crystal Palace or Hull couldn't take a punt on him instead of signing typical average Man Utd reject like Steve Bruce usually does.

We could even sign him as a Maxi Rodriguez type player who plays every 3 games or so. No idea if he's good enough though but just a thought.

Could well be Everton's team next season, especially if they appoint Mark Hughes <whistle>

  11. Would anyone consider Flamini as a freebie? Still only 29 years old (<yikes>) and would be a steady back-up option to Lucas?

Personally, I wouldn't but I suspect there would be people that would. I'd prefer Spearing back TBH <laugh>

    Manninger as a back-up keeper...? <whistle>

    Saviola...? :bandit:

Still havn't forgiven Saviola for his deliberate handball before scoring against us in Nov.04 <laugh>

The fact that we went on to win it is neither here nor there,me and the lad were raging <grr>

Flamini's career has been destroyed by injuries. In his Arsenal days and early Milan days he looked like he could become a top talent.

Him and Suarez could work well together.

Frightening to see Carlton Cole on that list considering we were rumoured to spend £20 million on him under Woy. What a travesty of a manager that man was (and still is, he'll get found out badly in Brazil).

See Kyrgiakos is on the list. Maybe we should get him back <laugh>

Was never the best technically but was willing to stick hi shead in where it hurt. Also scored a few important goals. Would definately solve our problem with defending crosses <ok>

Some decent players on that list who are around 30 years old. If I was a mid table/lower prem manager I think I'd be looking to try pick a few of them up. Think would be quite an easy job taking a few freebies for 1 or 2 years and splash your budget on 1 big signing.
