So your including players they paid for around 3 seasons ago that had no affect on them being promoted this season then?
And even if Hull did spend more than 8m (which they just didnt), I still listed a number of clubs who didn't. Thats not the point I'm making anyway, the money has to be spent wisely

Agreed, of course you can give the wrong manager money and have a disaster. Anjd occasionally a manager makes a silk purse out of a sows ear.
Though if you look at the trends oper several seasons, of net sellers and net spenders (guess which we are, every year) you find there is a good correlation between net spend and success. Is it exact or isomorphic (one to one and onto), no. But theres a good statistical correlation.
There is a fine line between success andfailure. 8m in the four positions will give us more than a fair shot at promotion.

Zayatte and Olofinjana were signed in the Premier League.
Simpson, Fryatt, Hobbs and Evans were signed either last Season (not the one just finished) or the one before.
This Season, we signed:
Alex Bruce (Free from Leeds United)
Abdoulaye Faye (Free from West Ham)
David Stockdale (Loan from Fulham)
Ben Amos (Loan from Manchester United)
Ahmed Elmohamady (Loan from Sunderland)
Quinn (£2,000 per game to Sheffield United up to £150,000)
David Meyler (£1.5m from Sunderland)
Robbie Brady (£2m from Manchester United)
Sone Aluko (Free from Rangers)
Nick Proschwitz (£1.5m initial fee, rising up to £2.5m with appearance/goals installments from SC Paderborn)
So that's only between £5m - £6.5m this Season. Not as much as you're trying to make out...
I know, I didn't believe it when I saw we were rumoured with him at first. The Rangers fans were saying they can't understand why he didn't go from them, straight to a Premier League side. I can't help but feel, we would have been more of a challenge to Cardiff had Aluko stayed injury free.

I can see why GFH don't want to spend £1 million on a casino perhaps their religion has something to do with it.
Warbara deal looks like a go ahead according to his twitter last night, he's hoping it's going to be a season loan as he think's he too good to get rid of. He seriously needs to learn that he probably won't even make it in to the Man City 1st team.
As for Byram £8 million is too much to ignore. As for the whole you need to spend money to get promoted. I agree with the likes who say you need to invest wisely Blackburn and QPR have shown that this season.

Yea I'm aware but if it was re-spent on the side, we could sign some serious quality and give ourselves a great chance of promotion. Not only this but we could sign Lichaj for free as a very strong replacement. The sort of targets we could then focus on would drastically change

I know we've probably spent more than most teams, but you were throwing in players signed years ago into it. I mean ****ing hell, Kamill Zayatte was signed back in 2008/09, and Olofinjana back in 2009/10 during our last Premier League stint. They've hardly accounted to us 'buying Promotion' have they? Since as in they got us relegated...
Those on my previous post are the ones we've signed this Season. This Season, we haven't exactly spent shedloads to earn promotion, as you are trying to imply. I sense envy TC? What was it like having Wood leave and see Millwall drop down the League like a stone whilst the other superior Championship sides brush you aside?
I thought Lichaj was a left back.I would like to see some other young talent DaLE JENNINGS springs to mind available at 350konly reason he couldn,t get a place was Robbens and Ribery I bet Finney and Mathews would had difficulty replacing those 2

I assume you mean McCarthy in goal from Reading. He is more than likely going to stay in the prem considering liverpool were considering signing him. He would probably cost millions as well, he is one of the best england goalkeepers and on very very good form.
Smith wasn't that good when he was here on loan and not sure how much he'd cost. I'd prefer Lichaj in honesty.
I've not really heard of perkins but just looking him up, he is 30 years old and Barnsley is the best club he has been at having only ever been transferred for free or by loan. I'm not saying that means he is bad but I would prefer if we didn't build a team around a player who is 30.
Chris Taylor has already gone to Blackburn along with Alan Judge
I would love for Billy Sharp, he would suit us very well imo. Matt Smith, I'm not sure of, he has only scored 11 goals at league 1 level and people used to complain about the lack of goals from Keogh. He would give good options though if we signed him and sharp having McCormack, Morison, Sharp and Smith up front. I would like to have those sort of options upfront again
He is predominantly a right back being right footed and all, I think he was just covering the awful McCartney from memory rather than playing there full time
