I like him. He is really invested in it. His dad loved the business, he loves the sport. I know how you feel about twitter and twitterers but Eddie Hearn is king of using it wisely.

I've a peculiar distaste for people who haven't made it their own way. I know it's unfair in some cases - some very good people have fallen into the same business they inherited from elder relatives - but yes, Eddie Hearn turning up at the end of every fight and claiming some of the glory grates on me - first off I can't stand people who seek fame, and secondly he doesn't actually do anything apart from be famous and use his fame to claim to be an authority, does he - I mean really?
He's no better or worse than many other promoters in that respect. The relationship between him and his fighters does appear genuine, although I can't really understand how these relationships can become so deep so quickly. With Froch for example, he took over promoting him from Fat Mick Hennessy.
Eddie Hearn does appear to be doing a good job for his fighters by getting them the fights they wouldn't or couldn't get elsewhere. Regardless of where and how he got his break, and he readily acknowledges it, he has been around the business all his life and has a deeper knowledge than his old man ever did. Interestingly Francis Warren, Kalle and Nisse Sauerland are all 2nd generation promoters as well, so whilst it isn't a closed shop, there would appear to be evidence to at least suggest an advantage over others. But then David Haye and Ricky Hatton have turned their hand to promoting on the strength of a lifetime in the sport. The same could also be true for the 2nd generation promoters.
