so I guess they were serious when they said we'll get our business done early

I thought I was ready, but I'm not sure I can take another summer of this. <yikes>

It's the best bit of the year!!!

I'm placing my bet on Nicola being in the visiting room of the Cagliari President's jail!

Confirmed by my source that the main target of cortese is Insigne .

Is your source someone known to be in and around the decision-making tree, or someone who claims to know people who know things? Genuine question, not having a go.

And Insigne would be an interesting get...has struggled to finish at the top level (then again, he's very young) but he's a fantastic little passer who has an eye for the home run ball. He also seems to like to tackle people, which doesn't hurt in our pressing game, and has the secondary benefit of being entirely hilarious because he's a midget.

He told me about Yoshida and Clyne before any paper had the story so I thought I'd pass it on , however he is one of many targets so we shall have to see what happens, but as I said what I've been told is that Insigne is the bullseye as it were.

Insigne... Another profligate finisher?!

Very good young player though, but a bit of a 'project' player, I'd say. Although, no disrespect to saintsfcfan I'm not holding my breath we'll get him. ;)

Would be disappointing if we're after him for big money. The people who get annoyed with Ramirez would get even more annoyed.

I've just watched some YouTube footage which is quite impressive....to counter that I refer you to the Steve de Ridder video.

Indeed, he's even more raw than Ramirez and I'd assume he'd probably cost more to be honest.

Ouch.

To be honest I'm always wary of a forward that hasn't found his shooting boots at that age. The truly decent ones always seem to have an eye for goal and are prolific from an early age. Then again Coutinho has already scored as many goals for Liverpool as he did in his whole time at Inter.

To be fair he did score 20-25 odd goals in Serie B with Pescara, but from what I've seen/read he has been wasteful this season for Napoli.

Regardless of that I'm not really seeing the basis for this one though to be honest, I'm pretty sure he signed a 4/5 year deal last Summer, he started about half of Napoli's games and was subbed on for most of the rest, Napoli finished 2nd in Serie A so have CL football to look forward to, he's also actually from Naples. I don't see why he'd want to come to us or why Napoli would want to sell, with Cavani looking set to leave for a huge amount.
