The sad thing is people will take retribution against Muslims. The government will tighten their security and more muslims will be subjet to searches etc.. and then you have the Army who have just lost one of their own. What's going to happen if they go back to Afghan, they will want revenge.

So innocent Muslims wil lhave their live altered for the worse because of the actions of a cpuple of extremeists. The outcome? They feel victimised and find themselves moving further towards extreme islamic movments.

Vicious circle and not to disimilar to the troubles in NI with regards to what the Army had to go through.
 
I'm staying out of it, just because, but I'd like to think none of our fans on here would say stuff like that.

Exactly. And the biggest problem is that in so doing it's alienating the best ally you can have against the extremists, which are those innocent Muslims.

Here in Canada, we haven't had any significant terror attacks. There have been a couple plots, but they were headed off very early. Why? Because in the early years after the 9/11 attacks, our authorities had the brilliant idea to work with Muslim community leaders and foster trust, which has resulted in the latter -- who generally see the warning signs long before these individuals appear on the radar of law enforcement -- flagging individuals that could be up to something. And they do this because they have more invested in preventing these acts than anyone else.

Or, we can all have a nice ****ing cathartic race war. That'll solve everything.
