If it once had credibility but now allegedly hasn't could be because the people are now Godless sodomites. Are you the Whore of Babylon perchance?
Exactly, there's no difference between Allah and the Jewish/Christian God, or with Odin, etc. Holy Books serve only as a 'personality' for their God, in that the way in which each God created the world is the sole thing that differentiates them from each other. That's why Christians are so desperate for these creation stories to be true, because otherwise they're worshipping the same God as Jamal, Hung-Po and Patel.
“Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: / But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.”
Venture ye not into Asgard, for my most feared son, the infamous, mighty Thor will decimate your puny skull with his Hammer of infinite power. The Valkyries have revealed unto me that it is ye who will pass into the next life should ye attempt to war with the almighty Odin.
This is an epic thread this, mostly of people spouting the same points over and over again I may add.
I gave up on this mess long ago. If we're ever going to solve this age old question that has puzzled the greatest rationalists, theologists and philosophers it won't be decided on here by bawbags like Dev sermonising from their eGolgotha.
You think there is a consensus is that you aren't a ****? I can't believe you are still bitter about being wrong. What a child.
This thread was supposed to be about the Christian God, who created the world in 6 days, 6,000 years ago. It was NOT about the existence of A God. Only ******s believe Genesis.
Haven't you heard? Of course creationism is true! It says so in the Bible! And the Bible must be true because it says it is in the Bible. Look at the trees. And the sky. And the stars. And the mountains. Look at all the beauty in this world and tell me it isn't designed. Because the fact that some things are pretty clearly points directly to a Judeo-Christian God, right? Seriously, if you believe in creationism you are a waste of air. And Christians who don't believe in creationism aren't much better, as they're the sort that cherry-pick from the Bible based on what's acceptable. "God causing death, torture and destruction? Adam and Eve? Noah's Ark? The virgin birth? No, they were all metaphors. The parts which are plausable? And the parts where God was nice, and Jesus taught good things? That's where I get my Christian morals from, as they were all true." It's a joke, and the fact that this approach to religion isn't questioned more baffles me.
