That was absolutely terrible. The name follows no logical pattern. The machine looks like a VHS player. It boasted about voice control (gimmick that quickly gets boring) and TV (I can watch TV without an Xbox...). I thought that the PS4 announcement was decent, but now it actually looks very good. Concentrated on games and new ideas surrounding games. Xbox One just seems to do things that I can already do with a Sky box, a laptop, or even a PS3.
looks alright im just on old cynic theses days though . ive never been a fan of convergence i want a games console to be just that pure gaming ended quite a few yrs ago
Iv had Xbox for years, but this time im going for a PS4, today's XBOX ONE launch was terrible, that will kill Xbox off
**** off you gimp! Can not wait for Xbox one the 360 smashed the granny out of the PS3 and the new Xbox will do the same! as a developer for take2 (we make GTA) I can tell you Sony is as good as dead!
that Xbox one looks a right pile of **** , reckon the ps4 is going to blow this shower of ****e out the water
Also, you should bear in mind that 80% of the stuff shown will not work in the UK. All the TV services etc... (as experienced before with Xbox) are largely US-centric. Then again, not sure why you would want a giant box to watch TV, when you can already just watch TV.
Owned a PS1 then moved to Xbox, then skipped PS2 and owned a PS3 - my lad has a 360. The PS3 is a vastly superior machine to the 360 in my own opinion, especially the more slimline version. PS4 for me with no consideration whatsoever
Agree with most of that to be fair, although I think the UK will be more up to date then it's former incarnation.
Xbox ONE. The name implies, one machine to do everything. All-in-one, One-for-all. It makes sense of what they are trying to produce. Sony did it with the Blu Ray, Xbox are doing it as a box that can do everything. I think the Xbox will blow the Ps4 this year, Microsoft's spending power will blow Sony out of the water.
Okay, I get the corporate mumbo-jumbo, but it is still a terrible name. I'm not too bothered by the name though, or even the look of the box, I just want a good games console. I wanted this Xbox to be great, offer really good competition and give real choice etc... but at the moment, it looks a real stinker. They are going to need an amazing E3 to turn this around. Overwhelming popular opinion seems to be against the Xbox One at the moment (on unbiased sites such as NeoGaf). Also, Sony's stock price has shot up (over 8%), Nintendo's has also received a boost (over 2%) - Microsoft is dropping. Shows the general feeling. As I say, I hope Microsoft show some decent gaming stuff at E3 to make it a decent console, but at the moment the best that you can say about it is that it would be okay for watching TV if you live in the US.
Tbf Ps3 has better titles now, blu ray, better specs etc. But i still prefer the Xbox. Xbox Live wins it for me, my friends have Xbox's, the connection is better and smoother for games like CoD and FIFA. Basically, even though the Ps3 beats the Xbox now, I still feel the Xbox wins and I think that'll happen again.
Nothing will ever beat the Gamecube. That was computer gaming at its peak. I say **** to playing against 10 year old kids and random American ****s. A bottle of Tallisker and Mario Kart double dash is all you need for a night in.
Had the Ps3 and the Xbox 360 in the last couple of years, only use the Xbox so I guess thats what I will get next too. Didn't get one when they first came out or I might have been put off them with all the faults. I can't see them making the same mistake twice with faulty machines and don't trust Sony after they got hacked also which is a big factor for me.
