BBC have confirmed it now. Good! Maybe Stoke will start playing some actual football. Next years premier league is going to be mental with the amount of manager changes and (soon to be) new signings.

Manchester City and the New York Yankees have formed an agreement to purchase an expansion franchise in Major League Soccer, the Premier League has club announced. The team known as New York City Football Club will join MLS in 2015.

So that's a second MLS club in New York, a city that doesn't even care about football, and still there are no clubs in the entire south-east of the country.

The only way New York would take to the MLS would be if it was the Cosmos who joined. This doesn't make much sense, especially as there are cities in the South-East crying out for a franchise.
