A few things to consider: 1.) Monaco are added to the list that includes Chelsea, City and PSG - moneybags who will be linked to anyone Barca, Real and MUPLC aren't 2.) Porto said Moutinho would be available for £20m this summer - so either Rodriguez is moving for £29.5m, or the story doesn't hold any weight 3.) Sky Italia says a player will move from Portugal to France? No reports from Portuguese or French sources then? They'd be a bit more in tune with what's what 4.) Monaco "are looking" to make a deal - not confirmed in the slightest 5.) If there is an offer, Moutinho can still say no Although we'd better have a plan b in place this time. Sergi Roberto, anyone?
I already knew Monaco have Russian backing, but here's something for you to consider...20 + 29.5 = 49.5 on my abacus, the link says 59! I don't care for its accuracy that much really, either way it doesn't change my opinion that we don't need another pathetic scoring midfielder.
Makes Croydon's point even stronger. This other guy (frankly I've never heard of him) would hardly be moving for £39m or Monaco are just mugs. A fool and his money...
His point is questioning the link, something I'm not too bothered about, its all that there is following PNP's initial post, and if he discredits the Metro with Sherlock-like sleuthness, good on him! I still don't think Moutinho is a player for us atm.
My question is, why oh why was he not sold 2-3 years ago when we could have regained at least a small portion of the fee we paid?
And that was about it so far as his memorable moments go but what a moment it was. Shame the move never worked out, I'm still not sure quite how that happened, he was a good player and by the time he'd finished a season with us he rarely looked good enough for the Premier League.
Good news. Shame it didn't work out but it's not as if he wasn't given enough opportunities. Hope you can make something of the rest of your career David.
It'll be interesting to see where he goes from here. Never got the impression that he wasn't trying when he was selected, but it was clear that something wasn't right. His attitude and application in training would be enlightening, I think. Good luck to him on his next move, though.
The one thing we know about Modric vs. Levy is that Modric made it clear he wouldn't honor his contract. He also claimed Levy lied to him. Levy may have lied to him and he may not. I have no idea. But a dishonorable man calling another man dishonorable is the pot calling the kettle black.
If Lewis is interested only in increasing the value of his investment, as expected, he might decide to shell out a certain amount of cash. Letting Spurs sink into perennial fifth place or lower finishers does not jibe with a reasonable plan to maximize his investment.
Last season's barely cold but I'm going to be impatient and play the squad for next season game. I'm hoping for: Lloris/Friedel Walker/Smith, Kaboul/Dawson, Vertonghen/Caulker, Rose/Davies Sandro/Wanyama, Dembele/Holtby Lennon/Townsend, Bale, Villa/Dempsey Damiao/Defoe It's a small squad but that's the core I think we need, if we can't get Carroll out on loan for a Premier League side then I'd keep him and similarly if there's not a decent loan or transfer offer for Livermore I'd happily see him stay too. In addition I'd like to see us sign another quality midfielder but I've no idea how much that lot would cost us and how much we'd have left, I wouldn't be too disappointed if we had to keep Sigurdsson or Carroll. Definitely need another defender thrown in there too, no idea who we'd get though and unlike in midfield, I'd be gutted if we're left to rely on Gallas and Naughton to fill in the gaps again. Finally, with the formation it was just an easy way for me to list the squad, I think you can make 433 and 442 out of that squad too.
Quite simply nobody wanted him or his baggage by the look of it, says it all when a 2nd rate Russian outfit no-ones heard of takes him on loan. Keeps getting injured which doesn't help either. No matter now, the money can finally be put to better use.
Clubs were only interested in loaning him, and he didn't do anything to encourage a permanent signing when he was there.
