If Swansea carry their relegation form into next season they could be tailed off by XMas.

Smashed by a poor Fulham team today.

I dont think theres much difference between 8th - 20th in the PL.

Europa League will cost them points. That could cost them their PL status.

    Neutral perspective

Swansea - Michu is class and Swans have managed to keep him - you need a good striker in the prem as you HAVE to take those chances - Laudrup has been speaking about bringing in another striker. His signings have been excellent and his name within European football circles is worth it's weight in gold in terms of being able to attract players who otherwise would not go to the Swans. Contrary to what other have said I think the European campaign will actually be of benefit rather than a 'distraction' - for a start it must be attractive to potential signings? Prediction - I think it could well be a top ten finish.

Cardiff - it is going to be tough boys - but I really do hope you survive. The question you have to ask is - how many of the players you are going up with would get into a any of the current Premiershp sides? Wigan have just been relegated with some terrific players (by Championship standards) Al Habsi, Boyce, Figeroa, Espinoza, Moloney, McManaman, Beausejoir and Kone. Everyone of those would get into our side - what about yours? That's how big the job is facing Malky - not only does he need to recruit at that level but he also needs to meld them into a 'team' before the season starts. It's a big ask. I think all the promoted sides will face a really tough task but I certainly would like you (and Hull for that matter) to survive. Wouldn't be surprised to see West Brom struggle next season if Chelsea don't lend them Lukaku. Good luck.

Id say everyone who finished 8th down plus the 3 promoted teams will have an initial target of 40 points.

Any of those teams could get relegated.

Wigan got relegated because they cant defend.

Good luck next season. I dont see Wigan or QPR being any sort of threat.

I think you made a mistake with Wood though. Just doesnt look a good enough all round player and why didnt Nugent take that penalty.?

On our players for a start our keeper could improve Man City let alone a team at the bottom cos Joe Hart is garbage.

It's hard to see Swansea struggling next season even with Europa League football, the manager knows where the problem of the latter half of the season came from. We have no strikers that he is willing to play, so Michu has been there all season acting as a False 9. Given the fact that Swans were dominant in several of those last games I would expect a few more wins would have been achieved so we will see if Laudrup's agent talking to Abramovich was linked to bringing in Lukaku on loan soon enough, and Aspas is reportedly keen on joining the Swans.

Cardiff will have to add players to all it's departments, it can be done on a budget of £25M but must resist the temptation of signing an expensive player meaning the rest of the squad will suffer from under-strengthening.

I have the Swans to finish about 10th and Cardiff about 15th, think that's realistic for both clubs.

But can I just say that getting 46 points is a huge achievement, there are only 38 games in the premier so getting to that tally is quite good. And getting that number of points have been good enough to be 9-12 for almost every season in the last decade.

Things are very tight in the premier, whilst being only 10 points above the relegation zone seems like a few wins away from the drop, those few wins are huge. You will see this when its your club being there. I had us down for a nailed on 50 points a few weeks ago, as you can see that didn't happen.

Why can't we have an opinion then ? And being mid table will be a success for you and us, don't be so deluded that you think you can replace anyone in the top half of the league even before you start. We will never replace any of the clubs up there IMO ever.

if thats the case jager, then as far as i'm concerned, football is dead. i have actually thought whats the point of football when the best we can hope for is mid table for the next 5 or 10 years.

the reason your in football is to win league titles and trophies. if you dont believe you can progress in time, to the point of threatening top 4 and better, then you ought to make way for a club that does.

Swamp I agree to some extent, but the top six sides have a huge advantage, they have huge support worldwide. They have backers with lots of money who are willing to put it into the club.

The other reason is that with the financial fair play thing coming in, nobody can invest tens of millions in clubs unless their incomes are huge. Just look at Everton for an example, always been in the top flight, never relegated, what have they won?

The only hope for clubs like ours is mid table, or by some freak results over a season top six, that's not likely though. And to win a cup and qualify for europe. We will not ever replace those top six though, we may beat them on the day but ultimately unless they go to the wall replacement will never happen.

Being a football supporter is all about 'the dream' ...

The reality - unless there is some form of 'draft' system introduced at some stage - is that the richest clubs are always most likely to be the most successful - it's the 'likely' bit that keeps us all coming back because 'likely' is still a long way from 'certain'.

Look at this year's football showcase The Champions League Final - going to be between two German teams neither of whom should be able to compete with the richest teams in England, Spain and Italy (even Russia) but they have - further their fans have a lot of influence on how the club is run than in those other leagues and the ticket prices make watching affordable for the masses.

Personally I loved it that Swansea and Bradford got to the Carling Cup final - fabulous occasion for the two sets of fans and the opportunity for one to be in Europe next season to boot ... what have Liverpool, Everton and Spurs achieved this season - nothing more, despite the money spent and they didn't get that fabulous day out at Wembley.

Actually, add Arsenal and Man City to that as well ... how ridiculous is 'winning fourth place' ...

For me, as a Leicester City fan, of course I want to win something, if we can - but that's not the most important thing - I'll pay my money week-in, week-out as long as we play exciting, attacking football and 'have a go' at whoever we are playing ... anything beyond that is a bonus.

Yes but Leeds ran up the biggest credit card bill ever, well until Pompey! And Liverpool are still there they have no debts as it was all paid off when they were taken over. Well at least that's what was reported at the time.

I think both are in line for a tough season Cardiff for the obvious reason having only just been promoted i would hope for around 15th. Swansea after 2 good seasons may struggle a bit. Cast your mind back and most teams that are not at the top all the time struggle to juggle both Europe and the league i dont see it any different for the jacks this year. 16th to 13th for them. As you said with current sqauds!!
