Sorry guys, not three penalties. The handball only happened in the corner as a result of the first one not being given. But who cares?
Great Result that - we looked good (despite a half show from the Citeh)...Howson's goal pick of the bunch...Happy Holidays my Not606ers I'm off to the beach!
And that was hardly the only clear cut chance we had - Pilks, Holt, Martin all came very close, and Bennett's header saved on the line by Lescott. Does beg the question of how Hughton is going to get the players to deal with pressure next year
Fair point. I think he said in a post-match interview last week that "negativity breeds negativity". So if we just don't lose next season we'll be fine! Also, the table makes very healthy reading. If any potential signings haven't really followed the PL too closely this season, we look like a solid mid-table side. The last couple of results will look very nice too! I think that result also means that in two seasons we've taken points from every single Prem side. Lovely stuff.
Incredible - didn't get to watch it (howson's sound like another beaut) but had a feeling this morning and had £15 on a Norwich win and man utd to score 4+ goals. Lovely finish to the season - few extra pennies and a result/performance that can't hurt in securing signatures this summer. Does it have to end?
Look at the gap between Liverpool in 7th and WBA in 8th though. A massive 12 points. That just goes to show how the divided the premier league is.
Same gap as between first and second! But yeah, definitely a case of haves and have-nots. It's very strange how (beyond Swansea, West Brom and perhaps West Ham), there haven't really been any solid "mid-table" sides, everyone from 11th down has been involved in the relegation fight at some point. It's going to be interesting next season with the promoted sides to see whether that continues. Over the last 2 seasons, Reading are the only team to have lasted a single season.
Joe Hart apparently received the "golden gloves" award before this game. We've put 6 past him this season, more than against any other team!
and yet we have finished just 4 points behind a Swans team that has had a "great' Season - or so the press and neutral fans in general keep saying. Have to agree with the divide though from 8th down. Liverpool have not exactly been great for most of the season (or so it has seemed) yet they still ended up streets ahead of the "also rans"
Obviously! Fergie says good-bye #1 - I am guessing Beckham in tears might feature somewhere also Arsenal, Spurs & Chelsea fighting for CL snore fest and the mighty Liverpool qualifying for Europe No contest, the lower half of the season died for the powers that be last week
Attacking mid he is centre mid he is not (although he will try) best trainer I've ever played with hard worker but was never that stand out hard work pays off
