I notice that Spurs fan Mike Ashley will be giving a £1m bonus to his non-playing staff if the playing staff beat Arsenal. Hopefully the players will be motivated to do something nice for their co-workers...

Ashley's "largesse" may not be all that it seems.

Newcastle currently stand in 13th place & are due a payment from the PL of just over £6mil. They are one of 3 teams on 41 points - the others being Stoke & Norwich. Should they win today, and results go their way, they stand to gain as much as another £2mil by moving up to 10th place. Even moving up only one place gives them 750k of Ashley's promised £1mil.
