Now it is rumoured that the mags are in the chase for Ba,

If the stories that safc want him also are true, and both make an offer, wonder who he would choose, or who would offer the most wages.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew wants to snap up Demba Ba from West Ham on a free transfer as he tries to beat arch-rivals Sunderland to his signature.

Pardew has been alerted to the Senegalese striker’s availability - and eagerness to stay in the Premier League after the Hammers' relegation - and is putting a lucrative deal together.

Ba has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave and is fielding offers from other clubs before informing the *relegated outfit that he wants out, as he is not keen on spending a season in the Championship.

Sunderland are also *interested in Ba too, but he is just one of several targets that Steve Bruce has earmarked for a summer spend.

Newcastle are more focused on landing him though, as they try to replace Andy Carroll without spending a fortune.

The Geordies have had a bid for Lorient’s Kevin Gameiro rejected and are unwilling to match the £10million-plus asking price.

However they would throw a lot of money at Ba to land him without a transfer fee.

Who will he choose, history, potential, shopping, location, manager, chairman, owner........

none of these I fear, it will come down to dosh IMO with a get out clause again if the team goes down.

not sure either team needs him, we can both do better, IMHO

as i told you all 2 weeks ago and was doubted, which my comments were then confirmed, we have spoken to the player and the player wants to sign

if niall states otherwise then he is lying yes. the statement released said safc were aware of the rules rgearding approaches etc... but at no point did it deny we had spoke to the player

If Newcastle really want him the could put a great spin on their tempting him there over us. Send him a dvd of all their number 9's goals then at the end have their new kit come on the screen with Ba 9 on the back and "Become a legend" written underneath. Hope they don't read this now.

I think our reputation in Europe and our history works very well in our favour.

However, it depends how much the player knows about each club. If Ba did his research, he could probably find out that Quinn is a pretty good chairman, whilst Ashley and Llambias are a bunch of ****s. That would certainly work against us.

Can't see him coming to any of us to be fair I think he has his sights set on a London club whoever that would be.
