Hoadie - your degree of sarcasm is improving, you must have been hanging around with me and alwaysright for too long! lol
ps Dont worry about the seriousness of this thread. I will do my best to keep you entertained and educated during the summer What did I say a couple of weeks ago ? I might have to start charging for these lessons !
I aint going down to Gillingham. Heard there's no roof's the POSH fans are too good for that ;D See what i did there hehe.. It's mainly because Gillingham aint high on my away list considering I want to go away to Cups too.
http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/...ng-payne-back-to-posh-1-5082813#comments-area Reports states what we already know. Looks like Payne is Posh's only real transfer targt' currently. 1 of the comments suggest Payne is worth £5 million, and that they should pay whatever we ask for him.
So, we'll probably let him go for 100k or so..... I certainly hope he doesn't end up there as they are now a direct rival, which they weren't before. I'm hoping a Championship side like Millwall, Palace or Ipswich come in for him. Fingers crossed.
There's no way Scally would only let him go for £100,000. I think a fee of the region of £400,000-£500,000 will be more likely. We managed to get £200,000 for Rooney don't forget!
I would certainly be expecting a lot more than a 100k. Even more than 300k come to that based on their Chairman's views that he is 'exceptional footballer' (Posh Telegraph ). Jack is due to come back and train with the Gills on the 26th June (Kent Online).
Minimum I would like to see is 500K down, rising to £1M if posh get promotion. With at least a 20% sell on clause.
Half a million is a MASSIVE fee between two league one teams. Rest assured Mr Scally is a shred businessman and will get the best deal for Gillingham. See you later Jack.
I wonder if there is still some monies owing for the Lee & Whelpdale transfers that would be included in the deal ?
I'd be very disappointed if this was the case. Previous rumours circulating last summer were at around 700K...at what, 21 years old, and him being very highly regarded, I wouldn't sell for that. I have no issue with him being sold if a Championship club came along with a good offer...you can't deny him that...but to a team in the same league? Not a chance. We're better with him. I'd be very disappointed if we were to sell him to a league rival.
I agree with your comment. At the time it was purely a repeat of rumours circulating but not one that I support in terms of sale.
I have to seen the rumours which say he is going for around 375k which I think is far too low, the fee should not be anything below 500k, and should be closer to 700k.
