No thread available so just started one to put up an ew shot tomorrow. Beverley 3.10 Ingleby Star 11/2 PP. Needs a galloping track and has one tomorrow. Also clear second top rated by Timeform behind the favourite who looks far too short at 7/4.
3.40 Fort Belvedere Hopefully his last run (first for two years) as blown away the cobwebs! On his second start he beat a now rated 119 animal, off only 85 today he could be well in! I believe all the others in today's race have big question marks: Toto - career high mark Shadowtime, bling king, lady all well held on last weeks run Muja - distance Carazam - ground At 6/1 I'll take a chance fort belvedere retains some of the ability he showed in France on what is now his 4th career start
Morning, troops. How are we??? Good, good. Here’s a question for the great brains on the forum – has the son of an Oaks winner ever made its racecourse bow in a National Hunt Flat race??? I don’t know the answer but one deffo does today namely Love Divine’s (what a lovely name for a dam by the way) offspring in the ‘lucky last’ at Winkers. Hologram is the old boy’s name and those bookie chappies are currently shouting 2’s. Looks a well above average event though, people. Meanwhile, I Say, I Say, I Say, I see that Pricewise has previewed the old Oaks this morn. Good luck, crew.
Had a Canadian today for a bit of interest: 2.20 Winc Fairyinthewind 4.50 Winc Master Medic 5.00 Sedg The Village 5.25 Winc Hologram 8.30 South Call The Cops Good luck to all risking a wager today
If that Manuel chap is such a certainty to be the next Man City manager why are those bookie chappies still going 1/3 re his chances?!? Anyone reading today’s papers would assume it was a 1/100 shot! Meanwhile, Mr Henderson could give Tistory his hurdling bow as early as tomorrow, people. The half-bro to Punchestowns is entered in multiple heats, this week, with the earliest being Uttoxeter of the morrow.
Telescope not declared for the Dante! Cor blimey, I better get that picture of the forum's favourite trainer back up.
4:00 Sedgefield Riskier 7/2 Bounced back when winning over this distance at Newcastle last time. The 16 length 3rd (Nowurhurlin) won next time so the form is solid enough in the context of this race. Has also won over this course and distance in the past so I don't think a 5lb rise for his last run will be enough to stop him.
Bob, there’s a whisper that he’s been on antibiotics after getting a little nick and as a result can’t run up at York. It doesn’t appear to be a bad injury at all but the Derby is, of course, only 2 and a half week away. Bit of a cliffhanger as to whether or not he will make it to Epsom Downs.
The ‘Racing Post’ are reporting that Telescope got the nick getting into a horsebox! Bizarre and most, most unfortunate. They also say that Sir Michael hopes to give the old boy a racecourse gallop prior to Epsom. All may not be lost but its far from ideal.
reluctantly going to pass today-- as ever there are a few that 'catch' the eye, but not strong enough to put up as solid . The weather will affect the southern tracks, particularly wincanton-- chepstow already good to soft, so a deluge will turn that place heavy-- Headline News and Astra Hall will love that in the penultimate, but to hard to predict at the moment....
Glad I took the plunge on Indian Chief last night ante post Still would like to have seen whether I was right about Telescope or not though, i'll be disappointed now if Indian Chief has to come off the bridle to beat Windhoek and Greatwood.
Along with Riskier I fancy a couple of others... 5:50 Southwell Chiquilline 7/2 Beat Haar by 3 lengths off levels over this distance last time out. Faces a 10lb rise for that win which I feel is fair considering Haar has since landed a hat trick of wins. 4:20 Wincanton Velator 13/8 Has taken well to fences only beaten 1/2 a length at Cheltenham last time and should appreciate this step up in trip as he did over hurdles. Skinny price but a confident choice. Put these to in a trixie along with Riskier. Good luck all!!
Bit disappointing this wasn't made public but old Stoute always has had a certain disdain for the media.
NOW you know why Greatwood was sent Dante bound. Thought it was a bit brave for Highclere to have a head to head. Also thought the 6/1 price available for good money looked a bit iffy. Poor show from them. Dawn Approach is heading odds on at this rate!
Such is life in racing. Information kept as close to their chests as possible. The whole stable lay it for as much as they can.
It wouldn't really be a head to head Toppy since both horses are owned by different groups of people even though they both sport the Highclere livery. Harry Herbert did say it would be "boring" if they both ran against each other...think he was more worried about his percentage being diminished if they faced off rather than winning separate trials!
Morning all, trying to find better than 9/2 for stoutes liber nautilus for the oaks any one found any better, after the musidora will be favourite no doubt.the work riders at Newmarket seem to think its a cert but that old rascal Clive has put me away before.if I can get 5/1 it's a bet to nothing for sure.
