Today it has been confirmed that Reo-Coker and Carew have both been released from Villa. Carew is just the type of striker we are looking for but i guess he will be out of our reach in wages. £30k-£45k a week. Also Reo-Coker is a tenacious midfielder and the type we are lacking could do a very good job but will probably get better (Premier League) offers. Birmingham have released Bowyer, Larsson, Kev Phillips and Stuart Parnaby. Bowyer, like Reo-coker would give us that nasty edge we are missing as we are too soft and have no bite in midfield. Larsson probably unrealistic. Phillips, proven goalscorer wherever he has been think he'd be a brilliant option off the bench. Parnaby as defensive cover wouldn't be a bad shout either. Also the later two wouldn't command great wages i assume. And finally it said on SSN today that McKail-Smith is out of contact at the end of summer, surely as a free he should definitely be worth a punt?
what do the above players apart from mackail-smith all have in common??? il give u a clue all above 15k a week. So you can rule the lot of them out. lets get real eh, premiership players aint going to be coming to Hull this season.
The free transfer market is where we'l be looking, but were talking championship players released, maybe a few suprise foreign imports, Danns, Norris, Kilkenny all free's could possibly pay a fee for Darren Ambrose, Andy Reid i think is about the only high profile player we may sign on a free.
I would love to see Faye with us along with Kingson. Can't see us signing any of the others unless they reduce their demands.
Sorry pal, you are wrong. They might all be on 15k a week in the PL, but they aren't going to be demanding that if they make the drop down. Players won't price themselves out of a move if they know there is a chance that nobody else will pick them up. Phillips and Parnaby we could pick up on less than 10k each easily. The incentive comes when we get promoted and they get a small but reasonable pay rise. Larsson I heard has interest from Spain, Italy and Germany so no, he won't be coming. But as I said on another thread, don't be surprised to see some foreigners come in that we haven't heard of.
That was Amdy, it's Abdoulaye that's been released. He only played 16 games for Stoke this season and he's 33, but he was a regular the 2 seasons before that.
So it's the centre back Faye. Well, he's a good player from what I've seen, but he's getting on a bit...
