Reina moves towards the virtually stationary Anichebe. The keeper touches the striker, if anything.

No doubt it's not a foul but it looks like he bounces of Anichebe and then tries to go behind him but slips and gets knocked over trying to get past Enrique. To say he dived or was trying to be clever is a bit of stretch, Reina's not the only that would end up on their arse trying to run through Anichebe :D

There was a bit of pushing and shoving and the ref talked to Anichebe beforehand. 9/10 when that happens the ref is looking for an excuse to blow for a foul. Very harsh on Anichebe and not a lot, if anything, he could do but by trying to block off Reina in the first place it was always going to lead to the ref having to make a judgement call.

Exactly. Basically what I've been saying to everyone.

Anichebe should have thought about what he was doing and moved away from the two of them. Although I'm sure Moyes has told them to stick to specific zones, in fairness.

Everton only threatened from their corners and free-kicks. Spent the match lumping the ball up. Disappointing.

I'm no great expert on the rules, but surely, isn't blocking I.e. playing the man instead of the ball, illegal? The only sport I can think of offhand where this sort of tactic is allowed is American Football.

  8. Anyone else see this story in the news?

Apparently, LFC has employed dirty tactics in trying to force home-owners, who live within the shadow of Klanfield, to move out of their homes.

If it's even remotely true, it's complete shameful. I bet among those home-owners is a white-haired old lady (probably in her 80s), who has lived in her house since the day she was born. She probably got married there, and raised several children. Perhaps, even, her loving husband was killed in the War and she was left to raise the kids by herself, alone in that very house. Without doubt, it will hold many wonderful memories for that dear old lady, memories being all that she has left now that her lovely children have long since flown the nest.

Then, along comes a fast-talking man in a suit from LFC, asking her to sign a form that would practically gift the house to 'Pool. I wouldn't be surprised if the bloke (who probably called round the house on a Sunday night, mob-handed) told the poor old lady that if she didn't sign the form something "nasty" would happen to her budgie.

This entire story has left me feeling soiled.

25-1? Terrible odds. The real odds have to be 10 times that

I do know who is running that club,Mickey Mouse?,but they had to cancel a post season trip to South Africa because no one bothered to get permission from the SAFA to allow the game. Seriously, absolute muppets.

The official word is South African teams cannot arrange international friendlies during their domestic season, which Ajax Cape Town must have forgotten to mention.

Perhaps they'll be less bothered about a possible early entry into the Europa League via the Fair Play League, then?
It's still only a possibility, but the suggestion was that they were going to turn it down, as they'd have a very early start to the campaign.
Surely they'd be better off picking their fringe and youth players for it than not entering at all?

  15. It's the arrogance of LFC that it shouldn't be tarnishing its glorious 70s history-perspective with having to creep into the Euro-Disney Cup through the back door.

It would be quite funny if they got in through the fair play league! I can't really see them turning it down - if they did then surely whoever finishes 5th this year would want to do the same as they'll be going all out for top 4 as well. Wigan might fancy turning it down if they get relegated as well as they may wnat to focus on getting back into the premier league and won't want the added aggravation. There really is too many games in the Europa.

The outcome of the Hillsborough enquiry was no 1, to be fair. They've had all three.

Rodgers has said that reports of us turning a place in the EL down are rubbish.

    Also, Coutinho.
