Agreed to a degree, but there are always games where you don't get what your play deserves. We need greater creativity around the box. Lallana flatters to deceive too much for me. However it's Poche's first season 'proper' next year, and he'll be backed with £ from NC I'm sure. We just needed to survive this one, and we have. Just. Let's all go get a beer.
That was a big goal from Puncheon . Secured survival. I still think Wigan have a chance against Arsenal. But that games irrelevant now with Villa playing Wigan after us getting a draw
I'll take a point, but on the balance of play we really deserved more. How many points have we lost this season from games we should have got more from? With just an extra 1 or 2 percent we'd have been safe weeks ago. Hope we can get a win against Stoke next week and push on towards mid-table.
True, we've lost a bit of cutting edge. On the other hand we have had virtually zero squad rotation and this high tempo game we are playing looks exhausting. Let's get the lads off on holiday, firm up the squad and look forward to next season. I'm happy.
Exactly PTF. I take LTL's point but we should have won far more games with the number of chances we;ve been making. Worrying that Rickie is having a long dry spell!
Didn't need the goal as such but we had a decent chance of scoring how it was opening up and we could have leaped three teams with a late goal. He blew 7 seconds early.
Hey chaps..... We are staying up, say we are staying up. Frankly I don't give a **** that we haven't finished off another team that we should have done. We are up and I'm going to celebrate. 3 months of fun now while we speculate who we will sign, where we will finish and who we will sell. For now, I will take safety thanks very much. Back in August I predicted we'd be 17th or 18th. I am just delighted that we will be playing Premier League football next season. Over to you now Mr Cortese and Mr Pochettino... bring it on.
It's been a long season, we haven't got a particularly strong squad. Fatigue was always going to be an issue at this stage. Time to strengthen in the summer and hopefully stay well away from the relegation zone from day 1 next season.
No we are not!!! Until mathematically safe I won't relax. For a terrifying moment we were one above relegation. If Wigan can beat Man City why can't they beat Arsenal as I am not sure we will beat Stoke or even get a draw. If loose to Stoke and Wigan win the next two our goal difference doesn't matter and Sunderland or us go down. Spurs have helped us as it means that Arsenal need to win themselves Our end of the season has been relegation form, and what has happened to our goals. One in four simply not good enough
Totally agree with this. The pressing game needs a bigger squad than the one we've used! The boys look bleedin' knackered!
And quite frankly, there's more reason to be optimistic about a team that has been outperforming their opponents everywhere but in the final result than one that generates little but always seems to find the big goal. We'll need a couple players in, no doubt, but the foundation is pretty solid.
