Heat the oven to 180C/fan 160C/gas 4. Crush the biscuits in a food processor then add the melted butter and pulse to combine. Press the mixture into a 24cm tart tin, with a removable base, in an even layer. Transfer the tin to a baking sheet and cook for 10-12 minutes, until lightly toasted and set. Leave to cool then gently release from the tin and put on a serving plate. Spread the caramel over the biscuit base and chill for 1 hour. Arrange the banana slices over the toffee. Whip the cream and sugar together to form soft peaks and spread over the bananas. Melt the chocolate in a microwave or in a bowl set over, not in, a pan of simmering water. Allow to cool slightly, before drizzling over the cream. And there you have it.
STH i know, lol. I can never get 3 year old fillies right. Will leave this race to the day then have a look i think.
There are a couple of unraced fillies with lovely pedigrees that could be anything. The best on form appears to be Banoffee and Moth.
Ridiculous price though Nass? She'll have to win the Musidora in a canter to justify the short price she is now. Anyone heard any news of her on the gallops. To justify the way she's shortened in the last month she must be catching birds.
Think the market is ridiculous full stop, but I have her as one of the nicest fillies for this years Oaks. If she wins the Musidora in a canter they will shorten her more. Price just shows how little the bookmakers want to risk.
They've had to reopen the Musidora. Liber Nauticus must have frightened them off!! No doubt she'll fall out of the stalls and finished tailed off!!
I can't fancy Liber Nauticus for the Oaks. That probably means she'll win it. If it gets backed down much further it would be a lay for me.
Reynolds said yesterday that she doesn't show much on the gallops but is a nice big filly. Could be anything, but she's got to show more to justify the place in the market. There is however a buzz about Ballymacoll this year. What do you have against her?
There seems to be a bit too much speed on the sire side (Night Shift, Lear Fan). Neither of those would have got 12f. Having said that the sire did win the KG in a fast time (on fast going). There's also some 12f class on the dam side. Probably talking out of my backside.
Interesting comments. People forget Azamour won the James Palace, and usually mention his KG win. But you're right he was fast. But Serres is very closely bred to Conduit who stayed 14f well enough. I think inexperience and the fact that she's probably suited to a galloping track is most against her.
The form of her maiden win is poor but obviously that only tells half the story...she,like her stablemate Telescope,is all hype at present but obviously infinitely better than that first run. I wonder how she would fare in a moderately run small field Oaks,if she indeed passes her York examination. It doesn't look likely that Coolmore are going mob handed this year to force the issue. Bustino, are the Qatar Bloodstock colours the old Hollingsworth silks carried by Bireme etc?
