Also I'll add that when I first saw Basel play this season, I immediately noticed that their style is similar to that of Saints. You see very few teams press as hard as they did in both legs against Spurs. Seems like Dragovic would have very little adapting to do if he joined.

Dragovic, Wanyama, a versatile RB and possibly a winger/striker depending on how Mayuka's future is viewed by the club would pretty much be a dream transfer window for me. Personally I'm not convinced that the Wanyama rumour is anything more than paper talk at this stage though. He'd be a great addition however, would give us many more options, for example it would allow us in big games to play a midfield three of Wanyama, Cork and Schneiderlin with Schneiderlin advanced which would make us very solid.

I like the tricky player who plays wide, upfront for Basel. looks a very good player.

Meh, he's an exciting player but seems a bit wasteful as well.

Would not be suprised or upset, good player but sure we could find another player to replace him.

Pretty much. Give us £20m for him and I won't be particularly miffed.

Italian clubs have to deal with the one non-EU transfer thing, so I'd be surprised if anyone who actually had the money wanted him to use their slot.

I'd still be annoyed if he left, the potential is there for all to see. If we do spend the kind of money people are expecting us to this summer there's a good chance he will no longer be "Southampton's record signing," there's also a good chance we will not be scrapping for points so much next season. I think both of these factors would help him flourish, people still forget how young he is and wanted to see a finished article this year.

He'd also have had a year to settle in and would (hopefully) perform better. Selling and replacing could bring up the same problems all over again!

Wouldn't be too bothered about this.

Yes, he has the promise, but isn't consistent enough for my liking, and considering the money we spent, I was expecting more.

I agree. But equally, as I have said elsewhere, he's been no more disappointing than Lallana, for me.

I'd not sell either of them in an ideal world, but who knows.

I think we'd come to regret it.

The money we spent has absolutely no bearing on whether or not we should sell him - only how much we should sell him for. "He didn't live up to his price tag? Get rid of him" doesn't make much sense.

Yep, because Gastón asked for us to spend that on him.

I've been speaking about this on Twitter.

I basically said that I think we'd come to regret the decision to sell, should it happen.

At current, our set-up does not play to Gastón's assets. Lambert, who is slow by all accounts and plays with his back to goal, does not work with the likes of Gastón and Lallana flicking those threaded balls in behind. He may anticipate them occasionally, but more often that not he can't make it. As recent as this weekend, we had multiple chances to hit Spurs on the break, but as a unit we were too slow and there were occasions when Lambert took all the pace and sting out of our attacks.

Now I love Rickie as much as the next Saints fan, but he's not the ideal player for the situation at current. He's a popular character and rightly so, but we need to be careful with regard to looking at how to continue our progression at the same time. I'm not calling for Lambert to be left by the wayside, but as said, at current the formation and the way in which we attack is occasionally hampered and stalled.

Until we introduce more quality and mobility into the final third, we won't see the best of Gastón. He needs more time to settle anyway, in my opinion, and has shown some real flashes of brilliance - beyond that of any attacking player that we currently have at the club.

We need to add the necessary depth to the squad, to supplement the formation and promote this ethos that Pochettino seems to want to introduce.

    But first, safety.

I'd like to give Ramirez another season to prove himself. Would be disappointed if we sold him so quickly.
