I think he went from hero to villain. Scored the goal and later conceded the penalty which gave Brentford their last minute equaliser.
It was good to hear Brentford scored their last minute penalty this time. I guess it helps when the right person takes it. Does anyone else remember when Davids and Mido were arguing over who got to take a penalty against Portsmouth? That was really embarrassing to watch and I think Davids ended up throwing his glasses on the floor in outrage when Mido won the argument but at least we scored the penalty and got the 3 points.
It's a good experience for Longo, playing in the play-offs. I have felt he has been playing within himself since being booted out of Ipswich by McCarthy for being a footballer and not a hoofball player.
Coulibaly scored his first goal for Grosseto yesterday, as they came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2. Left it very late (95th minute), just to prove he's still a Spurs player! Not one for the highlights reel, but they all count, I guess.
Stayed up to watch the highlights show. Excellent goal by Luongo but oh that tackle in the box. Also pleased to see Pritchard seeming to play his standard game but in the presence of some real physical attention. Reckon another season on loan in that league for both, and then IMHO after that a PL loan or pulled into the seniors. Obika scored again too. What to do with him ??
The guy scores goals and seems to have worked hard on his game, so I think he'll forge a career in one of the top two tiers for himself. Don't know why he wasn't given more of an opportunity for us this season, even from the bench. Picking an 18 with either one or no strikers just seems stupid when you've got a young player scoring in the U21s. Is he good enough? Probably not, but he's got to be better than nobody, especially as he seems to have a good attitude and really wants to succeed. I've heard from a Charlton fan that knows someone who knows someone (great source! ) that he's desperate to come back to WHL next season and force his way into the side in some fashion. I don't think that he'll be given the opportunity to do so, though.
PNP : Obika IMHO is in that unfortunate limbo zone. His goal-scoring for the U21s shows he is probably beyond that level now. But there are questions as to whether he can make the final step. And given that strikers are literally the business end of the game, tis unlikely we could get him out on loan to a PL club like we can defenders and MF.
On the Charlton board they're saying he's played well when the team are confident, but he's anonymous when they aren't.
"On the Charlton board they're saying he's played well when the team are confident, but he's anonymous when they aren't." Yeah, he needs to man up like Adebayor and Defoe do.
Maghoma has just won and scored a penalty for Burton, apparently you have to leave Spurs for this to happen...
Redknapp has talked up Townsend's performances for QPR and denied the suggestion that he might stay with them next season, saying that he's too good for the Championship. I think he's right and we've all seen what the youngster's capable of against Premier League opposition, so we need to use him more sensibly in the next campaign. How badly could we have done with him down the right over the last few weeks?
Don't PNP. I'm getting more and more wound up at the moment by so many stupid mistakes we shouldn't have made.
Is it just me?...what part of Coulibaly's body put that ball in, why does the bloke next to him who does look like he connects with it, turn away like he's scored and looks at Coulibaly oddly, he doesn't chase after him like he would if SC had scored?? If it is a touch it looks like handball at best!?
