Chinese people eat basically everything. Saw a programme were they had dogs and cats in tiny wooden cages going to slaughter.

Thanks for that info Tom, I might be able to blind my American hosts with a little knowledge. When did you last watch them. Glad you said "Twins" as I couldn't remember their name? Do you know why they're called twins?

There was a programme on it, although illegal dog meat is becoming more and more popular. Cat meat is on the rise as well.

No meat on chickens feet, but they're an absolute delight.

I can get this - it's because the area it's in (the part of Minnesota with Minneapolis and Saint Paul) is known as the Twin Cities - Twins derives directly from that.

They are named for the "Twin Cities" area of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, which are the two largest cities in the state (Saint Paul is the Capital).

I really enjoyed that, didn't know the two had been debating at all. They're so contrasting, its a bit of a party piece! Peter Hitchens is just so odd, and so fixed in his views, and ends up being a bit of a parody/spoof like figure. I guess you could lay that at Brand as well, although I don't. I don't like his stand up much, but he's an interesting character, and I certainly prefer his views around addiction and how to deal with it.

It is not the water tower which is someway south. When I came back down this motorway on Monday afternoon I think it was somewhere near the point where the M42 joins the M40. It was certainly North of Warwick services.

By appearance, it is a column with what appears to be a Greek earn on top. I would suggest that it probably dates from late 18th / early 19th century but I haven't managed to find any information about it and having looked on Bing maps , have struggled to find it there as well.

    Cheers

I watched them last year. Each year I go to referee in the USA Cup in Minneapolis and have gone to a baseball game each time. Not going this year though. Be warned: baseball is a slow moving sport and beer and food costs a fortune! That's where baseball clubs make their money as it's really cheap to buy tickets. Some as cheap as $8. I enjoy baseball so I like the fact that each game lasts 3 hrs or more.

I don't! I know why San Francisco 49ers are called the 49ers and why Philadelphia 76ers are called the 76ers, though, so that has to count for something.

Try defending him ( Brand ) at 10 minutes and 26 seconds or os , he is a VERY clever man , but has the most amazing ability to shoot himself in the foot :-(

Something about the Gold Rush, and I dunno.

Baltimore are the Ravens because Edgar Allan Poe was from there. That's all I've got.

I know they were a relocation team originally so I'd assume they were from somewhere around the great lakes. Minnesota again? I know their team which is ridiculously named the Timberwolves was only founded in the last 20 years or so.

Some of the teams are named after some really bizarre stuff, my NFL team the Philadelphia Eagles were named that because they were established at the same time FDR took office and his symbol at the time was a blue eagle to embody hope and pride coming out of the depression.
