Rodgers has proved quite good at managing players fitness worries.

Look at Agger, Johnson and Gerrard this season. They have been in and out of the team a lot over the last few years, but this season has been completely different for them. If it was one I'd say coincidence, but all three cant be.

Ben Arfa could be a really good deal for us. Strong, quick, skillfull, versatile, creative, scores goals.

In our bunch of players who play and rotate in our front 4 we have Henderson, Coutinho, Suarez, Sturridge, Downing, Borini and Sterling.

Henderson, Coutinho, Suarez and Sturridge are all getting goals and/or assists at a high and regular level. Those three always play either left or center though. So where we could improve our goal and assist tally is on the right. Ben Arfa could do that (He plays LW for Newcastle but I'm sure would play RF for us).

Sterling is still young and Borini has been injured. But they both play on the left a lot any way.

I know he may be older but does anyone else think ( if he stays healthy) David Villa would be a cracking signing for us? Think he ticks all of BR's boxes and would work well with Suarez, Coutinho, Sturridge, etc.

At 31, would Rodgers go against type and sign him? As a free, the wages would make the eyes water...

Agree on the wages but was trying to think off the top of the head other strikers in a similar ilk to him ( play anywhere in the front line, clinical in front of goal, can create his own, links well, etc).

Liverpool want 22-year-old Barcelona full-back Martin Montoya, but they will face competition from Inter Milan for the Spain Under-21 international, who will command a considerable transfer fee.

Liverpool are set to sign Republic of Ireland international centre-back Alex Pearce, 24, on a free transfer from relegated Reading at the end of the season. ( I really hope this is papertalk. )

Also to note: It looks like Malaga, Valencia, Betis, Sevilla, and Bilbao will be missing out on the CL and the last three on Europe completely, could do with some of the players from those teams. Same with the Seria A with Roma, Udinese, Inter, and Lazio. Decent teams with good players in them, could try and persuade them on our project and ( if they buy it) how we are moving forward.

I would like him as he is still a quality player that knows where the net is. However, his wages would be very high and his age would go against FSG and BR policies. On top of that, he would be yet another player that likes to play from the left, we already have Coutinho, Sturridge and Suarez (all drift to the left when played centrally too), plus I think Downing is better from the left but I hope he's ****ed off over the summer.
