I thought about that one. But decided there was more alliteration in the original.
It is such a shame he got the injury when he did. He was playing very well at the time and I hope he at least gets a mid-table championship club to show what he can do. When you look at Andrew Taylor and Will Buckley, who were young players enjoying a similar purple patch for us at the time, I think he should at least be round about that level. He is back fit and playing, which is the main thing.
I would have liked to see him stay if we don't go up, as I think he could be the sort of player that could have performed for us, and offered a return to the Pozzo's if he got into the form he had before his injury. From the sounds of the quotes it looks like it is mutual, I suspect the club is just so different from when he was last playing (February 2011!) that it would be more like joining a new team anyway.

Does he mean he disagrees with that path? Perhaps as AK mentions he is looking for a path to Cardiff - all a bit strange really!

A shame for the lad as he was looking good when he got the injury
If we don't go up, it would be nice if we reconsider this, and at least give him pre-season, maybe even an extra year's contract! With the midfield we have at the moment, Chalobah will be gone, there is no guarantee Abdi or Battocchio will be here, plus Eustace won't play as much, so could leave us with a pretty depleted midfield.
As for the comment about a different path; maybe I am reading too much into it, but feel there is a little bitterness there for us bringing in so many, stifling his chances. No idea what has gone on in training, but if he was good enough, Zola would have played him

One question I have is, under the new regime, how much influence does Zola have on who comes and goes and who gets loaned out? Remember he is our Head Coach and not a Manager as such.
Could it be that as he was a long-term injured player when the take-over happened, and simply not part of the Pozzo's plans that they waited until he was fit and then loaned him out while allowing his contract to wind down without even considering if he could make it back to the matchday squad? Why play him and take a place away from one of the players we hope to develop and sell on in the future?

He was playing well when he got injured. Perhaps the Pozzos concluded that such a serious knee injury meant he was unlikely ever to achieve the same level of performance again.

Sad to see him go - I did think he would come back from the Shrews ready to stake his claim for a spot.....
