I think the case is being dealt with today by the FA but it appears Liverpool want him to play if unresolved.

Newcastle have West Ham and QPR away as well. Can't see them getting nothing from both those and Liverpool at home. Interesting that Swansea have Wigan(a), Chelski(a), ManCity(h), ManUtd(a) and Fulham(h). Bit of a rough run-in! Better get something from Wigan! <laugh>

After watching Sky's relegation run-in, from Southampton down to Wigan, I thought each would fancy two to three wins from now. There are a few 'six-pointers'; Stoke-Norwich, Norwich-Villa, Villa-Sunderland, Sunderland-Stoke, Sunderland-Southampton, Southampton-Stoke and Wigan-Villa. Lots of permutations. Newcastle's home games look harder than their two aways but could fancy their chances not facing Suarez. Wigan realistically have to target three minimum.

Yes that is correct, although two wins and two draws putting them on 39 may well be enough. Can see why they are odds on to drop though.

A win at Stoke wouldn't mathematically make us safe but would put heaps of pressure on for the Villa-Sunderland match on Monday night, especially Villa. It must be frustrating playing on consecutive Mondays. I'd hate it!

A dire performance by all accounts, but we expected that didn't we? On the plus side just a home point for Wigan conceding in the 90th minute a big home defeat for Southampton and a massacre of the poor old Magpies.Still think that Wigan will struggle to get six more points.

A Newcastle fan said it was out of their hands. That can't be right already?

I think the Geordies are apprehensive because they have QPR and West Ham away and they don't normally do well in London.Their other games is Arsenal at home.I think what he meant by out of their hands was that everyone below them now has the ability to catch them but I think Villa have a worse GD.

Newcastle now have a GD of -23, 2 worse than City. Villa are currently on -27. The Villa game at CR is now the pivotal match, especially if they lose or draw at home to Sunderland. Their other home match is Chelsea, and then they have the away at Wigan, who themselves have away matches at WBA and Arsenal, and I can't see them getting much from them. It's going to be tight, but I still think City will make it through. After today's 3-0 defeat at home to WBA, Southampton have 3 tough matches left as well, only one at home.

    A Stoke fan here Canaries..
Went to the game today and one piece of quality won the game for us.. Even before today's game I thought Norwich would be (all but safe) and you WILL stay up IMO.
TOO many teams playing each other and there is no way Wigan will win 3 of their four games. Beware though, Villa battered us a week or so back.. Take anything from that game and you will be playing Premier League footie next season. As said earlier.. you might not need another point.

All the best for the rest. <ok>

NO he didn't Charlie Adam has... as much as your fans think C.H. is useless... I want PULIS OUT the guy is an utter TOOL... Like Norwich we have some very good player's BUT Pulis can not handle them. A drab game won by a piece of quality by Crouch and Adam. Just heard an ex player Mc'vey spelling talking about todays game.

No offence but the guy is an idiot.. I'm listening to Talk**** and he did talk ****. We got the job done, well almost so have Norwich IMO. Gave Stoke ZERO credit but I expected nothing less to be honest. It's a fact we did create chance's. Crouch could scored 3 goals today. YOU will be fine let's hope we sack Pulis and we WOULD play more football, I don't doubt it. Good luck vs Villa.

I came up with the scenario of Newcastle, Villa, Wigan and ourselves on 38 points going to goal difference. Using one-goal margins, we were four better than Villa and one better than Newcastle. Wigan were better than us by one goal. That's tight!

Potentially Villa's GD could get hit by Chelsea,Wigan's by Arsenal and ours by City.We may need to park the bus.

I'm glad Hughton brought in Bunn now as I think he's been good for us and would've been worse off if we had followed the 1995 scenario with Marshall and Tracey.

    But................
Villa have to play Sunderland, Norwich and erm Wigan. You are staying up just don't panick. NO ONE even me gave us(Stoke) a prayer before the QPR game... think positive.

Cheers Potter. I was just looking at the tightest scenario. It's changing each week. We could lose the next two at home and win at Man City! Strange things happen in life.

Yes we are losing sight of Wigan's desperate plight. They are still six points adrift of us an despite their game in hand things look pretty glum for them.As well as an FA cup final they now have four games to play. They have run out of steam and the spell of luck that they were riding for a few games seems to have deserted them. They are going to need all the luck they can get now because they need seven points minimum and probably eight to be sure.

That final game against Villa is going to be the possible decider. With Lambert's style of attack it should be some last day at the DW.Unlike other years the focus is now on the bottom of the table.Potentially the whole of the bottom half of the table up to and including Fulham are involved.I don't expect to see a team relegated with forty points but if results go that way it could happen.Still going for 38 = safety though.

That late own-goal one minute from the end has to hit Wigan very hard. They now have WBA(a), Swansea(h), Arsenal(a) and Villa(h). That's a tough ask, IMO. It's hard to see more than 5 or 6 points from that. A win against Villa would see us safe, but a draw wouldn't be a disaster, especially if Villa fail to win against Sunderland.
