There is no point as such - its a sort of competition to see who can get the most reps - sort of defeats the real purpose of repping what you thiink is a good post - but that is pointless really anyway - so just fun for those who are competitive - like me !!

If you go to the top right of your screen you will see somehting that says control panel - click to open and below it will tell you the last five people to have repped you. They each give you the number of points on their rep power - so get friendly with H and she will give you a big one

You can only rep ten times in a 24 hour period, if you try to rep somebody too early you get the message, "you have given out too much rep in the last 24 hours, please try later!" So the period between the tenth rep and the time you are allowed to rep again is referred to as "in jail!"
