I think the greatest compliment I can give him right now is to say that I haven't once thought in the last few games that Cole would have done better.

I was critical of him and wondered as to whether he was really good enough but I think he's shown that he can be a more than adequate replacement for Cole probably the year after next although I hope he gets plenty game time next season too.

With Azpi making rb his I think we are covered for a good few years at fullback.

Fully agree, he's been a breath of fresh air since being played in his correct position <laugh>

good player not the finished article yet tho but forcing your way through our youth set up into first team contention is a achievement not to be sniffed at.

Bertrand at LW only works in games where we expect to be on the defensive the CL final was a perfect example of this he marked Robben out the game for most of that night Robben's only chance in tthe whole game was when he drifted over to our right.

Very good player Bertrand and a ready replacement for Cole.

Makes offering Cole 200k a week for an extra year silly to be honest

I was only okay with it if Bertrand wasn't stepping up but he has

Oh well what's done is done

He's doing well but was poor against Liverpool - both their goals came from crosses from his wing. I think Liverpool deliberately targeted that wing adjudging Bertrand to be more vulnerable than Azpilicueta. Going forwards, both he and azpi need to chip in with more assists. Still young tho, so he has the benefit having time to improve.

Still would fancy Luke Shaw as a permanent replacement for Cole. He's valued at around 15 million but he's 17 and would be a long term investment.

He's a talented player who has improved out of sight with game time. We have many others who would do the same, so why oh why don't we play them ?????
