Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but we haven't conceded a goal away from home since the Newcastle game. 3 away clean sheets on the trot in the Premier League is a great accomplishment. And even more so considering we used to ship goals away from home on a regular basis.
We have been lucky a few times, still comical at times. Against reading our defence messed up and if le fondre would have scored then everyone would be on their back, and a glimpse of nerves yesterday when yoshida cleared off the line after a mix up at the back. But all in all we do look a lot better at the back I agree, just need to cut these silly mistakes out
It is sometimes a miracle that the opposition don't score...our defending is often...interesting! I also think our defending shows determination...may not be pretty but is effective.
Still needs improving, in my opinion. They're in good form right now, and Yoshida and Hooiveld have certainly earned this run in the side, but I'd kill for another Lundekvam.
Will be interesting to see how we progress in the summer. How we go about it etc. I imagine, pretty similar to the past. Exciting times set to continue though, I hope.
I'd kill for another Killer! Great to read this post as I had not realised we hadn't conceded in our last three away.
How the table looked at the end of 2012: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20823022 Stoke are 12 pts ahead of us!
And whilst we're at it, here's the table immediately prior to our away game with QPR - the last game prior to Harry being appointed. Look at us then, look at us now, and then remember that it was an impossible job that Harry walked into. Had no chance of keeping them up, as we're always told. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20189996
Despite Lallana trying his best to lay on a goal for the Swans and Fox thinking its funny to boot the ball at Jos to see if it will bounce over Boruc
He plays for Norway as well. The lad joined us during the Norwegian off-season, and is competing with two in-form CBs. I'm almost certain it's been a case of not fixing what ain't broke, and giving Vegard time to get used to the Southampton way.
