The guy who played v Spurs the other week was very impressive although not sure if it was this guy as can't remember his name unfortunately.

If it is he was very tricky, creative and had a great touch.

There were apparently two Mohamed's on the pitch. The other was Mohamed S-something. This guy seems to be able to play DM/RM so it's not out of the question but you feel we would have heard soemthing

If it is that guy then I don't know why he would be coming to us. He looked impressive enough to want to play CL for Basel rather than move to us.

Redruth, supposedly he's only on loan at Basel and hasn't played much, Egyptian league is suspended so he needs to go somewhere! I'm not ufssed either way just playing devils advocate

You saw him to then..would be a great signing eh?

Unfortunately transfermarkt is pretty useless for DM's. He's 20 years old, valued at £1.3m. For his entire career, he's scored 4 goals in 91 appearances, with 6 assists. He joined Basel on 29th January, and has since then made 15 appearances (7 league, 6 Europa, 2 Swiss Cup), although in 8 of these he was substituted on. I don't know how frequent Swiss games are, but I'd be surprised if with 7 league appearances he's been a big player for them.

Looking at Basel's most recent line-up, they appear to play 4-1-4-1, with Elneny in the bank of 4. What would people think if that was our formation next year?

As to him signing, he's young and pretty cheap so it's hardly a massive outlay, and with the Egyptian league in disarray it's the sort of situation I can imagine McNally jumping on. Having said that, I was expecting a larger outlay on a DM, and I don't think from his stats he's got the most creativity. I think this is the video #BHW tried to post:

Not the most helpful video as it focusses on him scoring goals, which his stats suggest aren't the biggest part of his game. I'd have rather seen whether he's got an eye for a pass or how strong in the tackle he is.
Edit: Watching further, there's a lot more goals scored beyond 4, so I'm not sure if the assists are his from around the 4 minute mark, the video quality isn't brilliant, so it's hard to tell who's who.

Looking at Mohammed Salah, he looks like one hell of a player, although if we're supposedly signing 2 wingers, I'd be surprised if Snodgrass gets as strong a competition as him.

Thanks DH, it's difficult to tell, but I'm pretty sure they are not all him scoring - the pass over the top and the through ball from around 3:20 onwards look like him. A couple of other passes in there and he's clearly got a deft touch to get the ball out from under his feet. Obviously massively caveated by being in the Egyptian league and youtube videos not showing any of his crap play...

EDIT just seen your edit!
