Well... I can remember when Leeds were seen as the most potent team in English football and at the time they were know by everyone as 'Dirty Leeds' with the likes of Bremner, Lorimar and the nasty Charlton brother.

But both of those 'accolades' are DECADES ago... Leeds have the potential to be a biggish club again but at the moment they don't seem to have what it takes to get into the top flight. Sadly for Leeds fans most people don't think of them as either 'massive' or 'dirty' just "Leeds... so what?"

Bigger than your club ever has in living memory been, is, or will be, that's for sure!

PS: bets now opening on when his first mention of Wembley '73 will be.

Leeds... so one of the biggest fanbases in the country, Premiership-standard home attendances and the largest away support in the country. An exciting attacking team who've been assembled on a pretty small budget with a highly-rated manager at the helm hoping to take us back to the Premiership. A club valued at £90m which would be one of the most attractive investments in world football if the old bastard in charge of it would loosen his grip. High quality stadium and training ground facilities which admittedly need to be bought back but still have a priority repurchasing agreement and a club which is relatively financially healthy and which would look a lot more profitable if it weren't run by a crook who lines his, his failing radio company's and his mate Mark Taylor's pockets. A club which attracts support from all over the country in a way only equalled by the biggest six clubs in the Premiership (Manchesters, North Londons, Chelsea, Liverpool), and which has one of the largest catchment areas in the world (certainly in the country) if you include West Yorkshire (2m people) and North Yorkshire (1m people), something which would be much better capitalized on under a chairman who actively wanted the club to be bigger, better advertized and better served with regard to ticketing. One of the best Academies in the country which has produced a line of successful players, though which is being pillaged by scum like Man City because of a lack of ambition from the board room to keep young players at the club.

In summary: Leeds is a club ready to take back its place in every way but one... the tit at the top.

Are you a Sunderland fan? Great club - I look forward to the next friendship trophy between us and you!

We can all celebrate the fact that we are bigger and better than Weeds and their small, championship club mentality.
If Leeds were a big club they would be able to sell out their stadium week in week out. Unfortunately they fail massively.

Do you find it scary that we'll still get bigger crowds than you next season despite being a division below?

Not when we add our new seats in. You only got a few more than us this season - despite having a vastly bigger stadium (which you dont own) and getting more away fans from other teams going because you are near a load of our other drab, uninteresting Northern towns (as oppose to us who are near nobody because we are surrounded by beautiful countryside. Bliss)

Its clear to me also that most Leeds fans are secretly Manu lovers. Cantona was great though, I'll give you that.

    How many and when?

Stadium size means nothing for attendances. Look at Lazio for instance. Anyway, your team performed better than us for large stretches of the season and you have far, far better ticket prices. It's hardly a bloody shock that you did fairly well.

Then again, we were also the biggest draw at away grounds which shows it's not just geographical coincidence but club size which attracts a larger away following to Elland Road than go to other places.

    Feeble and wrong.

I dunno lad it's true that you got a couple of thousand a week more on average last year when you were both in the Championship but when you factor in the increase in travelling fans and the extra iterested generated by being in the Premiership I reckon Norwich's crowds will be bigger than yours next year.

Not that it means much in my opinion but you did bring it up as if Leeds were this amazingly supported team... but the reality is that only about 3.5% of the Leeds population showed up on average while about 9.8% of the Norwich population showed up.

Also Norwich filled their ground with an amazing 97.5% capacity compared with Leeds at only around 68% full.

Maybe you really ARE living in the past.

    p.s. #Your ground's too big for you#

[p.p.s. Holt - yes mate I am and I'm looking forward to playing you lot next year - cracking fans, always friendly and , pretty much like us, without any delusions... unlike some :emoticon-0105-wink:]
