Our playoff dreams are still just about alive but we need a lot of results to go our way and also win our 3 remaining games. It would of been slightly easier if we had beaten Cardiff on Tuesday night but there is no shame in gaining a point away to the team that will be going up as champions this season. Wovles got a crucial 3 points on Tuesday night as they beat second place Hull 1-0 to climb out of the relegation. When we traveled to Molineux earlier in the season we came from behind to draw 1-1. Sako had put Wolves ahead early in the first half and then just after half time Lawrie Wilson brought us level.

Who would of thought that with three games to go us and Wolves would be in the positions we are in. There's us a newly promoted team from league one with an outside chance of making the playoffs and then there is Wolves a team relegated from the premier league last season with premier league players in their squad struggling to stay in the division. We are currently 5 games unbeaten in the league and have lost only once in 8 games. Wolves have won 5 of their last 8 and lost the other 3 so with us needing a win to keep our playoff hopes alive and them needing it to stay up I can really see both teams going for it and a win either way.​
 
Tough one to call. Not having Ebanks Blake is a massive blow but Doyle seems to be hitting a bit of form, and he will really hassle Morro and Dervite which they don't like.

That said, I think with the way we are playing and the confidence they are showing we should dent their chances of survival. I'm going for a hard fought 2-1 with the last 20 mins being played in our half.

We could have done with playing Wolves a few weeks ago. They seem to have found a bit of form recently. But then when did form, league position or home advantage count for much in this division this season?

All season when we looked at your piece we could see that other teams' top scorers bettered our top scorers. For a few games lately that has changed, and especially tomorrow as Ebanks-Blake and Soko are out for the season.

I cannot argue with your forecast team if we were really going for it. We have had better results than Cardiff and sometimes may have played better, but that looked our most solid and settled side. It is as if the Good Doctor has finally discovered what his best team is.

Despite what you say, I think we have as much chance of being relegated as making the play-offs. Both chances are purely mathematical and can be discounted for practical purposes.

In which case I would prefer to see Harriott left out and included in our u21 side on Monday. They need to win to win their league. That is more important than a result aginst Wolves because maintaining the momentum in the Development Squad is vital to the future of our club. By winning our league we will attract more sponsorship and more good young players.

The future of the club does not lie with our present first team. That largely relies on players with no future like Jackson, Hughes, Fuller, and Cort and is just a holding operation until some more youngsters blossom like Harriott or we find a sugar daddy. As CP has stated many times, the present first team's job is to keep us in this division until one of those two things (both would be great!) happen.

Harriott would be replaced by Kerkar who might be given one last chance to impress or be given the chop. He did OK in his cameo the other day.

The other issue is whether CP thinks Hughes and Fuller should be playing a third game in 8 days. We don't have a direct replacement for Hughes (indeed that has been our main problem all season) and it doesn't look as if Hollands will replace him or he wouldn't have been asked to play the whole game for the Development Squad on Wednesday. But Wilson could return and switch Pritchard inside. Or Gower could start.

Obika would be the replacement for Fuller. On paper a more suitable partner for Kermit stylewise but the prospect does not enthuse me. But having signed him on loan I suppose the Good Doctor will feel obligated to give him at least one start, and now is the best opportunity.

This is what Charlton do - go on a good run, then screw it up by losing to one of the bottom teams at home.

Like Eddie I hope he saves Harriott for Monday. But I wonder if he'll move Jackson out to the left and bring in Gower? Just think he might feel pressured to give one of his two loanees a game, and he won't be impressed by Obika's selfishness in shooting when he should have passed, and also his saying that he was only here to force his way into the Spurs squad. Gower on the other hand seems to have the right sort of attitude for CP, so this will be an opportunity to give him a start. I wonder what has happened to Evina? I thought he was slightly unfortunate to get dropped and now he's not even on the bench.
 
I can't see Harriott being dropped, and don't want him to be. Despite it being an outside chance, we have to go for the play offs whilst they're still there. JJ also seems to have settled in the centre midfield too, and worried the balance will be off should he return to the left.

With Wiggins now again our clear no.1, Evina might rightly think he won't get many chances next season and has asked to move. That would be a real shame, but if we really are in the sh1t for money we have to make savings somewhere. And with Fox coming through strongly, and Holmes-Dennis not far behind him, Evina is not indispensable. If he does move I wish him well. He has been very patient as far as I know.
 
I agree with Captain Black addick that this has defeat painted all over it. Still we live in hope, and at least our confidence should be sky high. As far as Harriott goes, the guy is playing great, so let's keep him playing.

Wouldn't let Fuller anywhere near the ball after his crossbar challenge attempt on soccer AM today, but seriously going to be a tight one today, still hoping of playoffs has i have been for the majority of the season. Going to be a tight 2-1 win to us.

many wolves games at the valley seem to stick in the mind, most notably the Ebanks-Blake goal when he tore Paddy McCarthy a new one with some sublime skill. Nicky Bailey's wonder volley a few years back too, this might also be the same one that lita scored a 92nd min equaliser for us then on the counter Wolves won it in the 93rd, angry angry game. but positives today guys!! COYR

08/09 - Bailey's wonder goal, Wolves turn it round to win comfortably - 1-3 scoreline.
