You've got to feel sorry for the guy. Poor bloke doesn't want to see us promoted and the lads have ruined his season by being consistently near the top. We have to go on that **** match of the day programme, play fake clubs like Everton and Southampton but worst of all, our club will be given money. And lots of it.

It may sound silly to the average bandwagoner, but he only wants the best for our club. He wants us to be able to sit on the terraces eating Grimsby fish & chips with opposition fans, to visit proper clubs that aren't packed with premadonnas, to play in a proper league that isn't personified by money and greed, to play in a proper ground where theres a good chance we'll die of asbestos poisoning after standing there for 90 minutes and to have excitement every season not only fighting against relegation but also fighting to stay in business.

That's what being a football fan is all about, not enjoying success and watching fantastic flowing football whilst watching your team get studded with diamonds and stars. If you wanted that you'd go and support Man U.

So spare a thought for mussie, a very misunderstood man with principle and dignity who's unwilling to sell his soul for the premier league.

Quite funny but there is obviously some truth there , both about Mussie and about the Premier League

Ahem.. Maybe a bit of kettle and pot here? Don't you and Erik constantly moan about the team and predict we'll get slaughtered every week? Surely you think it's nothing short of outrageous that might go up?

    Why Grimsby fish and chips?

Surely you could have picked somewhere local.

Thought it would be nice to add the sentiment of getting to play other humberside teams again.

Not really, I didn't have faith in the team to cling on to second, we've been very inconsistent with performance levels albeit with a constantly chopping and changing team, in fact only now I think the sides starting to looks settled again.

Until January I thought Leicester had a far stronger squad then us and we'd struggle to match them, they've had a crazy dip which took them out the picture to our advantage. After Leicester dropped off Watford were looking unstoppable for a large chunk of games, I didn't think we'd be able to match them either. Both teams have gone from one extreme to the other whilst we've steadily yet unspectacularly picked up enough points to be where we are. I never even thought we'd be far from autos just thought that we would miss out, even if only by goal difference.

Always felt we'd make the play offs but given out record and sub standard performances for the most part against other top sides, didn't think we'd make it as far as the final. As for predicting us to get thrashed every week, not me, and if you hadn't realised Erik only does it to take the piss.

I think we have had a hint of fortune to be in such a comfortable position with 3 games to go, even last night we had great luck with millwalls victory. It's not that I don't want to be promoted, I just thought we'd fall a bit short. But I didn't realise I was a villain for not being blindly optimistic and seeing faults in our team and performances.

In fear of this derailing the thread, I'd like to put that to bed so we can focus our thoughts on sympathising for mussie. As a man who's followed the tigers for so long and still never worn a tiger suit or waved a foam hand, he is one of just a small handful of real hull city supporters and deserves our respect.

I look forward to Mussie's response. He's probably busy burning his foam hand, face paint and inflatable tiger right now.

I bet the real Mussie is very happy to see us go up and has fond memories of his time spent as a Tigers player- name taken in vain I reckon!

I can't understand why anyone wouldn't want their own Club in the EPL.

Maybe it's because I'm younger than most fans on this board, but surely all the positives such as massive financial gain, Worldwide prestige, a chance to witness your home town Club go toe-to-toe with some of the best players in the World and eventually build yourself up to be an established EPL Club which is a platform from which you can start to bring in some World Class talent of our own and challenge for Silverware.

Throughout Hull City's history, we've had to get used to disappointment and a general lack of silverware and we're now beginning to see the most successful period of Hull City's entire history. It's all fine saying that the Championship is a more entertaining League, more physical etc, but we'll never really show we're the best team in Yorkshire by being happy in England's 2nd tier.

Imagine if we managed to stay in the EPL. Stay in the lower half of the table for a couple of Seasons whilst we add more and more talent to the squad. Really established ourselves as a top-flight Club. What could the white ****e have against us then?

This is funny but undoubtedly there IS some truth in it. I can 100% cast iron guarantee I will not enjoy any away game next season as much as the classic Torkey weekenders, even the one where they beat us 5-1.

People will think I am mad and - yes the football itself was absolutely ****e - but as an overall experience it was much. much more enjoyable supporting City in the bottom division. I genuinely don't even think it is a debate. You would see the players out on the piss after the match in the same nightclubs we went in, earning the same wages we earned and you could just chat to them as there was no air of pretence whatsoever. Just normal blokes having a great time doing a brilliant job for a club they cared about. Without fail ever week in town you would see Rob Dewhurst, Alan Fettis, Neil Allison, Steve Wilson and many more.

Yet if we get promoted every single one of us knows that you can cast iron guarantee we will sign an absolute **** on 30k+ a week who never sets foot in Hull save for training and matchdays and wouldn't dream of chatting to a fan on a night out, in fact they'd be more inclined to get a bouncer to kick the **** out of you for even daring to approach them. And all they are thinking about is a move elsewhere - either by showing how good they are in a ****e team or if we get relegated any club that will have them. Can you imagine player sin the EPL going 3 months without any money like the squad did under Little? And other than financial benefit that lets us buy more money-grabbing mercenaries I really don't see the fun in trying to finish 4th bottom every season.

I'm no luddite who hates change but I stand by every word of this.

I find it very difficult to get my tiger suit on with the big foam hands on my hands, it makes me sweat so much that it makes my facepaint run all over my Fez.

Maybe you should try show your support by sitting with a flask and blanket and aiding the stewards telling people to sit down? There's a pretty hardcore contingent of them too.
