So you are equating a mandatory nationwide program designed to indoctrinate and weaponise young boys to a bloke with a megaphone leading a bunch of fellow football fans in an adapted version of 'Na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye'?

Can you use your good university degree to further explain that to me please? <laugh>

Reminds me of the episode of South Park where Cartman starts a fan-club for Passion of the Christ and then leads the members in antisemitic chants in German while they all believe it is Aramaic.

Es ist zeit fur reich!

Lets start again children.

If one is to obtain a degree from a good university then one needs the skills of analysis, synthesis and sound supported argument. Otherwise you might as well attend a former Polytechnic pretending to be a University.

Haha, you've got a point. I've had the misfortune of playing Greenwich 1sts, 2nds and 3rds at Uni football this year. Awful human beings.

Lets not get too carried away here guys..............You are talking in one breath of the Hitler youth........and comparing them to these so called football supporters...........Then truly you do not know the history of the Hitler youth!! These would have been considered pussy cats to the Hitler youth!!
Some are complaining that the German fans are considered intimidating, because of scenes like this? Are they really wrong in their assumption?...... I think not.
Is the calling of the statement made by the original OP, crass, anything different than an opinion?
So tell me why is it so outlandish for one to make a strong statement but not another?
From my prospective.....if that kind of behaviour witnessed in those scenes ever raised it's ugly head at St Mary's my support for Southampton would immediately come to a stop. So would a lot more...that is just my opinion.........

Lets start again children.

The original poster suggested this should behaviour should be imitated because it was intimidating and fun which it was not.

You might like to do a little research on the Hitler Youth and might start with some background reading. Maybe the "Book Thief " might help you.

You might also like to do a little research into the way in which the young people of North Korea are being trained to imitate the Hitler youth.

My fear with that short video was that the same methods and behaviour and tactics of the Nazis were being exploited and used to manipulate football fans of which there are strong right wing elements.

Fascism stinks and I correctly attack it so a wet behind the ears Freshman demonstrates how appallingly low the standards of University Education have fallen.

I've never read such pompous, self-righteous crap on here, and that's saying something!

To suggest that someone who disagrees with your frankly offensive views is necessarily uneducated is bad enough, but to call us 'children' is downright insulting (not to mention your bizarre prejudice against red brick universities - and no, I didn't go to one).

No matter how distasteful you find the German chanting, comparing them to Nazis is utterly beyond the pale.

I'm not going to get involved in your 'debate'. but to answer the question by the original poster, I think chanting like this is simply thuggish and will do nothing more than incite more hooligan behaviour. Most violence after matches these days is organised and instigated by non fans, using the footy as cover to start a fight. Chanting like this simply plays into their hands. Why would anyone want to copy this???

As it happens Greenwich is a highly respected University for teaching History, ranking above 'good' Unis such as Kingston, St Marys, Canterbury and Staffordshire. But hey i'm sure you know that seems you clearly obtained a degree from a good uni. You are possibly the most narrow minded person I have ever come accross which suggests to me you have no such degree, and probably no A-Levels or equivalents.

You have also failed to see my point. It is unacceptable to label a group of people as looking like, or infact being brain washed like a bunch of Fascists just because they have differing ways of supporting their club to you. Now that my friend, is a hallmark of Fascism.

I may be wrong, but my understanding of St Godders' comment was that the crowd reminded him of the Hitler youth, he didn't call them that. As for it being frightening, it would be if you were a fan of the opposition and encountered that coming round the corner.

So would it be acceptable for me to say 'They remind me of the group who burgled Jamie Carragher's house' about any group of black people wearing a hood or something?
