Indeed, it comes as something of a shock to see. 90% of us are perfectly OK with Pompey and would prefer them to be in far, far better fettle. I know you're only doing it to annoy the 10%, but 100% of us read it. You might remember that next time.

Well, if all championship clubs are on a level playing field and none of them are able to spend more than 100% of their turnover on wages (for example) then I don't see how it makes it unfair, it just makes it harder for a rich team to buy promotion (as you could argue we have done). It could be argued that parachute payments will mean that relegated teams have a massive advantage, but in a way that's already the case (and the disadvantage of having a big wage bill mitigates that in reality).

Once you get to the premier league, it's a different story however. Some clubs, with revenue from European competitions for example, vastly out-earn others and it's much less even in terms of revenue. The FFP rules don't do anything to remedy that situation.

I think it will make the Championship more equal, however I think it will be far harder for them to stay up once they win promotion.

I suppose Lapras has to try and take his mind off of poortsmuffs impending doom. Am I right in saying a win for Oldham relegates them tonight?

Fascinating in the same way the people of panem find the hunger games fascinating perhaps.

Nicola said that we should be on evens in the Championship and not make money until we were in the PL. The high wages to turnover for last season probably reflect the promotion bonuses. Saints must have paid out millions in the last couple of seasons.

They do need a new stadium to stand a chance of being a sustainable club at the highest level, just hope the owners at least build it and don't leave them mortgaged up in an old knackered yard of a ground.
I shall await our next accounts before being too concerned by media tittle tattle.
You can see from the percentage of revenues about how uneven the premier league could become from these rules.
