So for the last few weeks we've all been fretting about our goal difference, inferior to Watfords (or most in the top half for that matter) but I think it's possible to take something from it, here me out!

With four games to go a return of six points would see Watford requiring a win in each and every game left to overtake us, I'm sure even the most optimistic hornet wouldn't predict that.

However we can put them in exactly the same position with a win and two draws, as its not possible for them to return 11 points from 4 games. 3 wins and a draw wouldn't be good enough for them!

So forget goal difference, and know that 5 points (and not 6) means that barring a miracle from Watford we'll be suckling at the teat of the beautiful mother premiership come August!

Ps, I may be slightly drunk and this might not make any sense to anyone else but to my thinking/logic it's a positive!

Exactly! A win and two draws may be a little easier to come by but will ultimately place Watford in the same predicament

Very good point, hadn't thought of it myself but you're right, we only need five points out of our remaining 4 games to make Watford have to win all four games to overtake us; which is not beyond the realms of possibility but would be a very tall order!
