http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/apr/12/manchester-united-attendances-police-figures This club could not lie straight in bed about anything. But surely the NW derby was not 7k light.
Taking two small extracts... Manchester United are adding as many as 24,000 fans on to crowd attendances The disparity is because United, in common with other clubs, release the number of people who bought tickets, whether or not they attend. Can anyone explain to me why up to 24,000 people were not able to attend having purchased a ticket? Not sticking up for Utd or the police but that kind of figure suggests the report is bollocks to me
Tbf it used to be a decent respected club when Matt Busby rebuilt it from the ashes. Then that dirty piece of **** took over and its now its a hated underhanded organisation. There time is at hand, it won't be long.
They buy tickets to get credit for bigger games later. Most of them are from Ireland so can't make every match on ryanair
It's very clear that Arsenal do the same thing and on a similar scale. Most games at the Emirates have looked 3/4 full but they always claim 60K sellout.
Strange! I've actually been at OT 3 times in the last 6 years and I've always found odd to reconcile their "official" attendance with what I see around me! That is to say I wondered how it could be nearly twice as many as I'm used to seeing at SB!
It`s because the ground is much bigger, next time you are up here sit and count the empty seats then subtract them from the capacity, you will find very little difference.
That's what I thought too. So apparently against West Ham in the FA Cup third round our ground was at around 70% capacity? So obviously there are loads of pictures and fan and media comments about the tens of thousands of empty seats? You'd think at least one reporter could find at least one picture of some empty seats from the games in question to go with such a sensational story. http://chevrolet-manutd-360fanpic3.tag.huggity.com/manutd_03/app/index.php Can anyone find the ten thousand empty seats there?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 "The Redsaway fans' website claimed they had received the police data under the Freedom of Information Act." "When contacted by Sportsmail earlier on Friday a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said the figures had not been released by them, as the fans’ website claims." And there it is. Trolled by a Utd fan site, a new low for EC
Are you stupid? He put a link to his source,The Guardian It's tourists like you that give Manu fans such a bad name.
A colleague of mine used to be a Man Utd season ticket holder until a couple of years ago. They changed the terms and forced them to buy tickets for home cup games, whether they intended to go or not. He gave his up, as the commute for a midweek league cup game was just a stretch too far, but I guess it might help to explain some of the absences.
Nah, that's an old photo. I reckon it was taken around 15:23 on the 23rd October 2011 Yes. The Guardian quoting the Redsaway fans website. A quote which has been denired by the police. Try again Oh it definitely explains why some of our cup games regularly have empty seats, particularly in the CC where whole stands are often closed. But seriously, if the ground was 1/3 empty for the West Ham FAC game, do you not think at least one journo would have commented on that? Particularly after they were given (and all reported) the official attendance stat as being 71,000?
You said HE trolled a Manure website and that is a clear lie as he read it in the Guardian. Where they get it from is neither hear nor there you fool. And you say the police denied it on what evidence? Oh wait, The Daily Fail said so
Prem rules dictate that they have to print the figure for tickets sold not attendees. FFS man get something right today.
No you imbecile, he was trolled BY a Utd website. Let me make it more simple for you: A Utd website made up some figures they claimed to have obtained from the police The Guardian reported those figures without any evidnece of fact checking. Probably cos they made a good story The police stated that they did not provide those figures Photo evidence from the games, including the 360 degree photos of the ground, show that the number of empty seats is nowhere near that claimed in the Guardian You're a smart boy, you'll work it out
