Yes I agree that it was 300 years ago, but how about I talk to you on the repression of popular discontent after 1815, the Corn laws implemented by the Tories, Habeas corpus repealed for first time in English history under these Tories, to understand the historical perspective, is to understand the status quo today, they have not changed, Thatcher was simply a tool for their hidden agenda, of crushing the peasants (working class) we will never be a free society, while we have this Tory party and the Monarchy in control.....
PS: Dictatorship takes many forms, and I would not class what we have here in Britain today as a Democracy!
I disagree with you phil, the Tories were out of power for more than a decade and have been in and out of power over the years. And mate I lived in countries that truly were dictatorships and are not much better now.
You may not class it as much of a democracy, but until you have lived in places that would love the freedoms we have here I don't think you have much context in this.
