I wouldn't be in any hurry to back a fillie first time up, giving weight to the whole field at 8/11. I'd rather take a chance on Mixed Message at 14/1 who already has a win under her belt this season, and has only been raised 1 pound in the handicap for her troubles. She was very weak in the market that day, which suggests the yard were expecting her to need the run, and victory came as somewhat of a suprise. So I'm expecting an even better effort from her today

In the 2.40 i'm going against you both with THE ART OF RACING
Back down to maiden winning distance following a change of yard and gelding over the winter to my trainer to follow for the season olly stevens training for sheikh fahad and qatar racing.
don't usually pay much attention to stable feature but when asked if happy with his mark he responded VERY grinning like a Cheshire <cool> cat. and quote of the season "more toe than a Roman sandal"
only worry is if he needs the run.
willing to take a punt at BP 14/1 EW

My main interest gee-gee wise this morn though is seeing whether or not the Pipe’s Military Precision is declared to run tomorrow at Fonters Park.

And he ain’t been. But now may go to Uttoxeter on Saturday. Keep ‘em peeled in order to establish just what those old rogues are up to with Military Precision.

Meanwhile, does anyone know the reason (or the reason the Pipe’s have given) as to why Flying Cross is a non-runner today???

I don't know if any of the rest of you like a golf bet, but I like to have an interest one on the Masters.

WillHill and Stan James are both going 16/1 about Phil Mickelson which I believe to be far to big a price, for a player that has such a good record round Augusta, he's rarely out of contention and has won it 3 times.

Just to highlight how good a player he is round Augusta, he's played 48 rounds there and his stroke average is 70.54 which is the best in the field, of those that have played at the Masters multiple times. Tiger Woods has also played 48 rounds and his stroke average is below Mickelsons on 70.63.

In the last 3 tournaments he's entered this season he's had an encouraging 3rd place, and a 16th place finish, so his game is coming to the boil at the right time.

Il be amazed if the 16/1 lasts very long, some company's like BetVictor are only offering 10s, whilst Paddy Power, Boylesports and BetFred are only offering 11s.

Worth a few quid EW at 16/1 as your likely to get a good run for your money, going by past performances:biggrin:

Shergar, my 4 against the field at fancy prices...

Brian Gay 300/1
Trevor Immelmen 250/1
Vijay Singh 200/1
Ernie Els 125/1

Have backed them with PP as they pay eway first 6.

Hard to fancy any of those on current form Drever, Though I suppose that's why there such huge odds. Big price winners do pop up in the masters every now and then, including Immelman a few years back, so you never know:biggrin:

Just had a sick hand for anyone that plays poker. Ive got kings, and all the cash gets in pre flop for a £70 pot, he turns over aces. Im thinking standard, on the wrong end of a cooler again. Flop 7A7. turn 7. river 7. Split pot hahaa

Jokerstars? I used to be big into Poker a few years back but spent so much time playing I wasn't spending any time with the mrs. Won a few decent payouts, used to play as xciscosys on stars.

Best beat I ever head was a runner runner for a straight flush when the other guy had flopped quad Aces to my two pair.

Afternoon All.

A few for me today

2.10 Nottingham - should be won by the short priced fav, but not one for backing at odds like that, However I think Hello Sailor can be one that may go close and at 12's is a good each way option

4.20 Catterick - Mujaadel (3/1) - should win this race and is my Nap for the day

4.40 Nottingham - With Toppy in this one as I think Curl could be massively over priced at 16's and so is a good each way bet.

Other ones at bigger prices that may be worth looking at today, Amber Moon (2.00 Ling, 14/1), Khefyn (2.40 Nott, 33/1), Lily In Pink (3.40 Nott, 10/1)

GL to all those who play today

ffctom_b, I think HELLO SAILOR is one of the best named horses in training - by Mount Nelson out of Fairy Queen <rofl>

Does anyone else think hughsie can get at least a treble today at lingfield??
Also really like polar kite 2.50 catterick currently 15/8 GL guys and gals ;)

Lydia Hislop is obviously not a fan of The Princess Bride, as she just mispronounced INIGO MONTOYA.

"My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die" <laugh>

Sickest beat I ever suffered was on the final table in a $25k guarantee on Full Tilt back in 2008. I standard raise pre flop with KK, one caller. Flop comes K, 4, 2 rainbow. I check, other guy pushes all in (he had me just about covered). I obviously instantly call. Turn 6, river 6. He turns over quad 6's. Unreal!! He was making a decent play and did what I wanted him too so I can't really complain. Had to buy a new laptop after that and you can probably tell I'm still just a little bitter about it to this day lol!!

Shergars shoo in tomorrow is FILS ANGES in the 2.40 Nottingham! He won his maiden impressively over the course and distance last season on good to soft ground, the same conditions he will encounter tommorow, and he caught the eye when 2nd last time out at Yarmouth on seasonal reappearance. He was coming to win the race making good progress when a gap up the rails was blocked off. He still ran on to get 2nd once he finally got a clear run. He's off the same mark here of 85, so is clearly well ahead of the handicapper. 7 of 11 is a favourable draw at Nottingham, and Micheal Bell had a winner and a 2nd yesterday so his horses appear to be in good form. So everything is in place for him to get off the mark this season.

Secret Look 10/1 in this for me
