I would be one of those people.

That's purely because I wasn't old enough to understand what she doing but I can say my family joined in the riots against poll tax and my old man would have placed explosives in her pocket if he had the chance.

I felt like that about Major and Brown.

Ben - Bragg sung political songs about the rights of workers and general lefty type stuff, but when it came down to it, he made a ****e load of money from it, and enjoyed the wealth he accumulated, rather than spreading it around the poor, like his songs would indicate he would.

Or in other words, he was full of ****.

There's been some **** posted on here about how good Thatcher was for Britain, as the current Government shows, Tories only want one thing, money, money for themselves and all their Tory voting mates, the best way to get it? off the majority the people who have the most to lose.

Thatcher once quoted a work of fiction ( The Bible ) in The Mount of Sermon speech to justify welfare reform, its from the book of St Paul, " If a man will not work, he shall not eat " this was after her policies put nearly two million extra people out of work. Evil ****ing bitch

History has repeated itself with Cameron and Duncan Smith taxing the unemployed most of whom want but cannot find work.

Thatcher promised the the money from the sale of council houses would be used to build new ones, a massive lie, she stopped all councils from building new homes.

Thatchers policies raised child poverty to the highest levels in Europe, Conservatives are the most selfish set of ****s to walk our planet they only care about number one, if they can keep the working class unemployed and poor the more they get rich.

No other Prime Minister was as hated or liked in equal measures that shows what a terrible person she was, even her own kids ****ed off abroad and left her to die in a hotel, that tells you a lot.

I vote this ^^^^ for the bitches epitaph.

She was democratically elected three times - get over it you bunch of pussies - if you didn't like her then more people should have voted against the Cons, but they didn't, because Labour was a ****ing shambles. It's not as if it was a dictatorship. Wah wah wah she took my milk, should've got off your lazy arses and done something about it then.

The Conservatives were bad but Labour were worse so the best of being ****e was voted in (In the words of my old man).

She can't have been THAT popular anyway because these people didn't look too happy...

So do you think everyone who has a social conscience has to become a modern day Jesus Christ? You support Hull City don't you, so is it hypocritical that you don't donate your wages to the club? Of course not, you're just inventing a unique moral code for someone because you disagree with their politics.

Stop spoiling my fun with logic and reasoning Candy Man...

He's like Sean Connery- the well known Scot Nat.

Fiercely patriotic and pro devolution but remains in tax exile encouraging the others to fight the fight.

Billy on the other hand lives in massive mansion in wealthy Dorset- well away from the gritty cosmopolitan melting pots he idealises.

Dismal hypocrite <laugh>

That's bollocks, absolute bollocks.

What are you saying? If as a Socialist you become successful you should give your money away? You can't buy a house? or, once your income has reached a certain level you should turn your back on your values? Can only poor people be anti racist? Can only poor people support CND? Can only poor people be patriotic? Can only poor people support left wing politics? Do you really believe he should give up these values as he has become mildly successful in his field? It's not as if he's Bono or McCartney sat on £800m

Bragg comes from a working class background. Do you believe that if you become successful you are no longer working class?

Bragg has been a successful songwriter, author & performer for over 30 years. He works constantly either touring (he's currently touring America & Canada) or writing. Do you think he should work for nothing? When not touring / writing he gives his time for free in support of causes he supports.

"Champagne Socialism" is a term derived by right wing bigots who believe the working classes have no right to success.

Harriet Harman <laugh>

Can we stick to the eulogies for the recently departed Baroness rather than general politics? Ta.

Are political parties liek football clubs ie you pick one and stick with it? Surely it's best to pick and choose as to which parties/policies suit your needs and what you think the country needs each time rather than playing sheep in blind faith?

You've reeled in quite a few tonight!

It's not really reeling in as such.

Just stating other facts or expressing other opinions.

I'm saddened by how so many people have such irrational hatred for a democratically elected politician and seem to hold her responsible for their own frustrated ambitions/ careers.

There comes a point in your life where you just have to say "**** it, that's the way it is then. Time for Plan B."

That's the general idea yeah.

Michael Foot was the Terry Dolan of the Labour Party.

Thatcher was Phil Brown.
