Booked in the 25th minute, subbed off in the 81st. Unconnected. He'd committed a couple more fouls and was tiring, so it's unsurprising that he was removed. Luiz committed an obvious straight red offence, though. Far easier to point to than a claim of multiple, minor fouls. Neil Swarbrick was the ref.
They didn't make anything of a misdemeanour of a Chelsea player? Don't worry I'm sure Sky will do what they did with Ivanovic and see that it's flagged up.
No District it isn't an oxymoron. One can be consistently dull or good or lucky and today like as many times before you were lucky.
I haven't seen the highlights but it sounds as if all 3 goals were lucky, but tiredness was obviously a factor having to play 4 games in the space of 8 days. It's results like today that define seasons not going out walloping teams 8-0 that are wobbling like we did with Villa.
I didn't see the game DL. But, as you know, I've accused Luiz of thuggery before. Luiz needs no excuses for it, it comes naturally to him..Sorry, but I have no time for those who deliberately try to injure fellow players - whoever they play for.
Yet Gardner should've been sent off, in your opinion? How did you come to that conclusion, again? http://rutube.ru/video/b6cc370879e95268a5c32efbe5b61ef2/ Goal 1: Stupid, mad defending. Goal 2: Extremely unlucky. Goal 3: Failed attempt to control the ball.
I missed this. When was it? And what's its relevance? You progressed in the F.A.Cup (just) and we are over the hill and far away in the PL? When they start giving points for artistic merit, you won't be at the head of the queue anyway.
In response to Dave's previous comment. You are top by default because the league is weak, found out in Europe where the competition is much tougher
15 points top, don't forget. That tougher competition in Europe were being contained comfortably until the ref's intervention. And what fears would Galatasaray have held?
You mean the ref applying the laws of the game? United aren't above them.... Not in Europe at least. Luck of the draw has always been crucial, as you found our yourselves in 10/11
Anyway, for the neutral at least, the top four battle is warming up nicely. Spurs have 4 points from the last 4 games- in the same period Everton have 10, Chelsea 9 & Arsenal 9. Spurs home form has (surprisingly) been a weakness- 29 points from 16 games compared to Chelsea 34(16), Everton 33(16) & Arsenal 30(15). Even WBA have 29 from 16, Liverpool and Newcastle have 28 from the same number of games. City at home next for Spurs (21st April). It's still all to play for, but there seems to be a new twist every week.
Surely Everton have to be ruled out now? Once the annual loss at Anfield occurs they will be cut adrift. Today was crucial because for the first time in weeks top 4 is back in Arsenal's hands. Can't help but feel the fixture postponement was bad for Spurs. Arsenal could be 7 clear of them before they kick a ball, psychologically that is damaging.
Everton don't play Liverpool til the 4th of May, DL. They've got a rested Pienaar and Fellaini coming back in for their home game against QPR, then the Woolwich on the Tuesday. Two wins would put them right back in it, but anything less would probably rule them out.
